Born in Naples Italy, Federica is an award winning writer and director. She graduated from The University of Naples L'Orientale in "Multimedia Languages, Humanities Computing and History of Art, History of Theatre and Cinema". After working for Interno5 (Naples) and for the Fringe Napoli Theatre Festival, she began to work in cinema and photography. Her photographs have been published by Photo Vogue Italia.
After working on a number of short and feature films in Italy she emigrated to Canada and presently works and lives in Toronto.
She has made two short films. Her first film Exit/Entrance was shot in Italy and was selected for the Toronto International Film Festival, the Raindance Film Festival, and the Reykjavik International Film Festival in 2015.
Her latest award winning short documentary Fantassút has screened in several international film festivals in 2016 and 2017, from Poland to Brazil, and from USA to Iceland and Italy, including the Vancouver International Film Festival, Camerimage, and the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival.
She has also directed series of one minute internet films that deal with the idea of immigration and displacement.
She was assistant to Academy Award nominated director Deepa Mehta on Beeba Boys, and worked at the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
Her literary work and poetry has been published by Giulio Perrone Editore (Roma).
