The funding, awarded in the form of non-recoupable grants ranging between £50,000 and £150,000, is paid out over three years. This year, the International Co-production strand has, for the first time, supported collaborations with Hungary, Norway, and Spain. The funding will also support partnerships with Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, New Zealand, Poland and Sweden. Check out the full list of awardees below.

Lorton Entertainment, who produced “Rooney” for Amazon Prime Video as well as “Boom! Boom! The World vs Boris Becker” for Apple TV Plus, are set to follow professional boxing’s first family, the McGuigans, in a new series.
The four-part series will follow trainers Shane and Jake McGuigan, sons of International Boxing Hall of Famer, Barry McGuigan, as they manage a stable of fighters based at their gym.
The gym’s fighters include Chris Billam Smith, who will face off against Shane’s former trainee Lawrence Okolie later this month as they vie for the Wbo World Cruiserweight title, and Ellie Scotney, whose dream of fighting for a world title turns to dust when her opponent – also a former trainee of Shane’s – refuses to fight her if...

New Zealand rugby icon Jonah Lomu and former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will be the subjects of two new documentaries from U.K.-based sales agent and distributor Dogwoof and Sylver Entertainment.
The companies previously collaborated on “McEnroe,” a documentary about the tennis great John McEnroe, which was released in U.K. cinemas in July and premiered on Showtime on Sept. 2.
As development financiers and executive producers on both projects, Dogwoof will be presenting the projects to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.
“Lomu” is centred on the late Jonah Lomu, one of the greatest rugby players of all time. Lomu was a Tongan/Kiwi warrior who could run 100 metres in under 11 seconds. He was the youngest All Black to put on the jersey and still holds the record for the most tries scored in World Cup history. The film about his life is being made...

Liam Gallagher performed as part of the 2019 MTV EMAs in Seville, Spain, and took the opportunity to revisit Oasis’ hit “Wonderwall” alongside his recent solo track “Once.”
Accompanied by his band, a large string section and several backup singers, Gallagher opened with an emotional rendition of “Once” before seamlessly transitioning into “Wonderwall.” During the chorus the musician referenced the awards’ location by changing the lyrics to, “There are many things I’d like to say to you, but I don’t speak Spanish.”

Liam Gallagher’s new documentary “As It Was” begins at the rock legend’s lowest point. A little over 10 years ago, after many years of simmering, Liam’s feud with his brother Noel finally boiled over, and their chart-topping Britpop bandOasis finally split. A decade later, that rivalry has only hardened and even threatened to derail Liam’s film.
“Liam Gallagher: As It Was” charts Liam’s comeback tour, starting with the disappointment of his post-Oasis outfit Beady Eye, and followed by a messy, tabloid-fueled divorce, until finally he found his voice and landed a No. 1 record in the U.K.
And yet telling the story of the former Oasis frontman proved to be difficult for directors Gavin Fitzgerald and Charlie Lightening — mainly because they weren’t allowed to use Oasis songs in their documentary. As part of their long-standing feud, Noel refused to license Oasis’s music for use.

Liam Gallagher: As It Was chronicles the eccentric and outlandish life of the infamous Mancunian frontman. Director Charlie Lightening pulls back the curtains on the eccentric icon and delivers an invigorating exploration of the hidden human being. Following the titular character from the infamous Oasis split, rushed formation of his second band, ending on Gallagher’s solo outing with his debut album.
Opening up the titular character and offering detailed insights. A difficult task for many- especially – that of a documentarian looking into such an enigmatic character. The boisterous icon takes the infamous mask off and speaks openly of his trials and tribulations that have plagued his life in the last ten years. The enigmatic character is no more. It seems the hard-boiled frontman has softened on his stances all round.

Liam Gallagher has released another track off his upcoming solo album Why Me? Why Not. The new single, “Once,” is a poignant acoustic ballad about regret and making the most of your one shot.
The poetic lyrics take center stage on the song, with Gallagher crooning, “I think it’s true what they say/ That the dream is borrowed/ You give it back tomorrow/ Minus the sorrow/ And the pain she just comes in to break up the daydream/ Her knife edge is waving/ To keep from feeling the same thing.

Notorious is a documentary about Ufc icon Conor McGregor. But does it pack the right sort of punch?
I went into the press screening of the new documentary Conor McGregor: Notorious with only a vague knowledge of who the eponymous chap is: an Irishman, a fighter, and a bit of a shouty person. I didn’t really quite know what to expect. A bit of a mix, as it happens.
The film opens with Conor bopping about in the back of a fancy car. Hip and happening music is playing, and the iconography of Las Vegas is spliced in between Conor’s in-transit dance moves. It feels like one of those little montage thingies they show before a sporting fixture. This sense, that you’re watching the preamble to an event rather than an actual feature film, recurs throughout Notorious. I’ll come back to that in a bit.
