Stephen Cognetti has written and directed every entry in the Hell House LLC franchise, which began in 2015 and currently consists of Hell House LLC, Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel, Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, and the recently released Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor. While doing the press rounds for The Carmichael Manor, Cognetti talked to Bloody Disgusting about his hopes for future installments, saying he has ideas that would require higher budgets and that he would like to move away from the found footage style all of the films have been shot in so far.
Cognetti said, “I make references to this event in a few of the movies, including this one, but also the third one as well is what happened at the Rockland County Fair, back in the day. That’s something I always talk about, this event, and never really making it.

Welcome to Give Me the Fear, a new Frightfest 2023 preview series hosted by screenwriter Stuart Wright.
These brief, spoiler-free interviews will – across the entire series – help you to discover the kind of knowledge and experience about how to make indie horror films that they don’t teach at film school.
After looking back at the blood, sweat and tears that went into their creative successes, I ask them one last question: If you could hand pick one person to be in the audience for your Frightfest screening, who would it be and why? I think you going to love the answers this question elicits.
This episode features Werewolf Santa (Airell Anthony Hayles), Haunted Ulster Live (Dominic O’Neill) & Poundcake (Onur Tukel)

Indie filmmaker Onur Tukel has a lot to say in his latest, Poundcake, a horror satire that mixes slasher with political discourse.
Fans of Tukel know that his films have always been heavy on commentary, and this one is sure to get a rise out of people.
In the slasher satire, a hulking beast preys on straight, white men in New York City.
“No one seems too concerned about the victims, because, you know, they’re straight, white men. But if everyone can drop the hate and embrace their differences, they might find a way to ‘kill the beast!'”
Tukel stars alongside Ron Brice, Eva Dorrepaal, Pia Paez, Zarius LeGrand, and others.
Poundcake is inspired by slashers of the 80s and icons like Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and Leatherface, Tukel previously told us. “In a slasher movie, the villain murders someone every eight or nine minutes and there’s...

The dawn of Saul Goodman is upon us (or so it seems) in the first full-length trailer for Better Caul Saul Season 4.
AMC’s prequel series picks back up in the aftermath of Chuck’s devastating suicide. The above footage features Jimmy in attendance at his brother’s funeral, then later attempting to stay gainfully employed as he rides out his year-long probation from practicing law. We also see Jimmy looking through a closet full of suits (at the 00:40 mark) that look an awful lot like the threads worn by his Breaking Bad alter ego.

Did Eddie manage to get the board on his side to take down Lucious and Cookie?
That was revealed on Empire Season 4 Episode 15 as the villain continued to try and get closer to the bigger share of Empire.

This meant Lucious had to join forces with an unlikely ally who was on board with whatever plan he came up with.
Also, Lucious decided it was time to get even with Shine for his role in the bombing.
Elsewhere, Cookie continued to try and get Poundcake's daughter to visit her before her death.

Just when it seemed like Lucious Lyon's murderous tendencies were gone, they came back out to haunt him on Empire Season 4 Episode 15.
It was only a matter of time before the truth came out about Shine, but had Fox not spoiled the big reveal in the official preview, I would have been shocked to the core by the developments.
Shine has always flown under the radar, and the random focus on his past with Lucious was a dead giveaway.
Lucious tricking him into recording the song to capitalize on the posthumous record sales was a stroke of genius.
In this day and age, it's not uncommon for deceased artists to catapult up the charts, and Lucious needed to get the board members back on his side.
How would it look from a business perspective if Lucious and Cookie were stripped of their powers just as the company is placed under...

Anika is back in the picture, and of course, up to her old tricks.
There was a lot to like about Empire Season 4 Episode 14, but the return of Anika has to go down as one of the least satisfying twists yet.
How many times will the Lyon family let her skate by without some repercussions that will send her away for good?
Grace Byers is a great actress, but there's no getting away from the fact that Anika's storyline fell apart on Empire Season 2 when she was in a blonde wig offing Rhonda.
There's no coming back from that, and the more frustrating thing is that Anika never wins. She always winds up looking like the idiot because of her plans.
My eyes almost rolled into the back of my head told Eddie about strategizing her way to the top.

Empire adds another TV icon to their list of guest stars in the episode entitled "False Face." Alfre Woodard joins the family as Cookie's (Taraji P. Henson) mother. Don't expect to find this mother/daughter duo in the kitchen baking cookies, instead, hide the wire hangers. This tense relationship has all the makings of a Mommy Dearest remake. Memories of the difficult relationship she shares with her mother are heavy on Cookie's mind as she continues to search for Poundcake's daughter.
