Britt Fravi
- Sound Department
From the first time Britt perked up her ears in the frozen wilderness
of rural Minnesota, she started laying down tracks...in the snow.
Frolicking through the woods at age 10, she could hear her mother
calling from a mile away. As her ears caught the reverb off the trees,
she knew that listening was not an option, but a way of life. Burrowing
in the blankets long after her parents went to bed, she watched
cartoons and scientific television. Britt was able to listen with the
volume at the lowest setting to avoid detection. As her friends
listened to music too loudly, she listened to the wind blowing through
the trees. When her parents sent her away to film camp in Los Angeles
she got lost, not in the blinding sun, chilly ocean, or Disneyland, but
in editing picture and sound. After bounding off to Chicago to attend
Columbia College, Britt nibbled at many aspects of filmmaking -
including picture editing, and motion graphics - but ultimately found
herself taking shelter in the audio editing rooms designing, editing,
recording, and mixing post production audio.
