Tye-Leigha Hagood, who prefers the pronouns They/Them, developed a keen interest in film and writing at a young age and honed her passion during high school and college while pursuing Dance, Theater & Performing Arts. As a Black Queer Filmmaker from Baltimore Maryland, Hagood struggled to find representation for LGBTQ+ BIPOC in mainstream media, which led her to appreciate queer foreign and indie films. Despite working in various entertainment industry roles since 2012, Tye-Leigha feels that writing, filmmaking, and producing have always been her true calling. While studying at the San Francisco Film School, Tye-Leigha worked on several short films such as "Laser Fire" and "Another Word For Escape" and also wrote and directed the short films "Redemption" and "Lost". Tye plans to collaborate with Queer creatives to boost representation in various media. The goal is to redefine and amplify Queer/LGBTQ+ narratives on a wider platform. Currently, Tye holds the roles of Co-founder and Chief Content Officer at Maniac Media, as well as being the CEO of the Maniac Group. This groundbreaking media and technology company is dedicated to enhancing representation within the media and technical industries, and stands as the first of its kind to be BIPOC and queer-owned.
