Issue 4 of 5 of the Dr Who Event, and after the events at the end of last issue we know we are very much into the home straight. The Event for those coming in late, is the (somewhat reluctant) teaming up of the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors and their respective companions, a dash of the War Doctor and The Time War, and the revelation that a future/ alternate timeline Twelfth Doctor is trying to destroy pretty much everyone in partnership with the Voord. Has it been as much fun as it sounds? You bet. Can Cornell keep hitting balls out of the park? Now that is a good question..
So last issue left us on the cliffhanger that a future version of the Twelfth Doctor, in partnership with the Voord, who had been hiding in a pocket universe,...

In the second stop on a crazed, 12-day worldwide tour, Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and Steven Moffat last night revealed the first adventure of the 12th Doctor, Deep Breath, at the BFI Southbank. Empire was seated among the none-more-Whovian competition winners and BBC top brass treated to a screening of the 80-minute, Ben Wheatley-directed episode, and is pleased to report, in as spoiler-free a manner as we know how, that it’s one of the best since the show rebooted three Doctors ago. This is primarily down to Capaldi himself, whose freshly regenerated Time Lord arrives unhinged, confused and traumatized, in ill-fitting Matt Smith threads and causing collateral damage both physical and emotional after the Tardis is spat into the Victorian London of cross-species, same-sex detective couple Madame Vastra and Jenny Flint. A high-profile death sparks a bizarre murder investigation, on which this new-old Doctor embarks while struggling with his own,...

Matt Smith and David Tennant's Doctors live on, even if you won't see them in brand new episodes of "Doctor Who." The BBC has debuted the covers to the first issues of the 10th and 11th Doctor comic books being released by Titan.
Both covers are by artist Alice X. Zhang, and they're very nice to look at. Along with the covers, the creative teams were also announced. The first five-issue arc for of the 10th Doctor series will be written by Nick Abadzis and drawn by Elena Casagrande. The 11th Doctor will have Al Ewing and Rob Williams as writers, with Simon Fraser providing the art.
The first issues for both issues hit comic book stores on July 23.

The 50th anniversary of BBC's seminal sci-fi series is fast approaching, with the special episode celebrating half a century of the mad man with a box broadcasting in most corners of the globe, November 23. So with that, a very teasing teaser has arrived.Through some visual effects magic the teaser attempts to link all 11 Doctors together, with the 11th himself, Matt Smith, doing a nice job of narrating what the current season arc (and arguably the entire show) has been building to. While they sell most regenerations of the Doctor rather heart achingly short (1,3,4 and 10 are prominent) it's a nifty little way to get us amped for the special.Have a look below. ...

A specially created teaser trailer for next month's 50th anniversary special has arrived. The trailer doesn't include any actual footage from the special, instead it mixes shots of various previous incarnations and bits of Who-lore before jumping to current Doctor Matt Smith addressing the screen:
It's jam-packed with references that fans will find as they go through it frame-by-frame - from specific episode references like "An Unearthly Child" and "The Robots of Death," to props and creatures like Bessie, the Daleks, Autons, Cybermen, Racnoss, Ood, The Silence, and all the previous incarnations of The Doctor.
In other 'Who' news, actor Ben Daniels has spoken out about all the talk regarding his rumored casting as the next incarnation of The Doctor several months back when he was in the running.
In a lengthy response to Digital Spy, the "House of Cards" and "The Paradise" star said "it was more than rumour" and he was approached.

I'm calling it right now: of the Doctors Who I've watched in my years catching the series on and off,* I'm calling Matt Smith as my second favorite actors taking on the role of the time traveling, ageless hero (Tom Baker, the one who I grew up with via PBS broadcasts is the first). Smith brings manic energy to the role, making you feel like his version of the last of the Timelords is constantly thinking, constantly living, constantly trying to make the most of his long life, even when the scripts are sometimes trying trying their best to muddle along. It was a brilliant stroke of casting to pair Smith alongside current companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillen) and her new husband Rory (Arthur Darvill),...

The Doctor (Matt Smith) takes Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) to Apalapucia, a world of sunsets, but Rory comments there are only white doors everywhere. Amy needs her phone to take photos and the Doctor thinks it's for Twitter updates - so he's familiar with Twitter. Of course Amy gets separated this time. The Doctor suggests Rory pushes a button and he selects the green anchor. There's a giant magnifying glass in the room (well there were giant scissors last episode.) Rory also tells Amy to push a button but not which one. Why'd she go for the red waterfall? The Doctor finds Amy but only through the "looking glass," well magnifying glass. A robot with hands welcomes Rory and the Doctor. The Doctor comments "time's gone wobbly." Doesn't it always, time's just like jelly. Amy's been here a week already. The Doctor tells her it's the same room but different times,...

“I’m putting Hitler in the cupboard.”
You ever watch a TV show and, at the end, feel like lighting up a cigarette and basking in the afterglow? Yeah, it’s like that.
After the mid-season finale, “A Good Man Goes to War,” expectations were extremely high for “Let’s Kill Hitler.” I am happy to say that the show lived up to all those expectations and more.
Our story opens with Amy and Rory driving through a cornfield making patterns in the crops. This leads them to the Tardis where they start having a conversation with the Doctor, only to be interrupted by a woman in a Corvette. “Must be River Song,” I thought. No, it was some woman named Mels, a childhood friend of Amy’s. She promptly pulls a gun on the Doctor and demands he take her away from the police who are chasing her. When he asked where,...

The Doctor (Matt Smith) lands on the ground and the Tardis explodes and vanishes and he can only shout to Amy (Karen Gillan) who is left on board. A voice from a house attracts passers-by, asking for help and the door at the top of the stairs opens to let the person in. Sophie (Daisy Haggard) notices stains on the ceiling of Craig's (James Cordon) room downstairs. Sounds can be heard from upstairs. Craig has placed an ad for the spare room. Sophie asks if he's found her a man or she might just have to settle for Craig. That was an apparent hint. Notice the Vincent Van Gogh card on the fridge advertizing the exhibition at the Museum D'Orsay. The Doctor arrives, he's the new lodger, "this is going to be easier than I expected." Craig says "I love you" whilst opening the door to him. He describes himself...

The Doctor's (Matt Smith) ganger screams in agony, prompting the real Doctor to tell him the Flesh has to cope with their past regenerations. Ganger Doctor asks if he wants a Jelly Baby. The Doctor wants more proof that he's really him and they talk with each other. Rory (Arthur Darvill) and Amy (Karen Gillan) may not trust them, but the two Doctors are on the same wavelength, "great minds" and all that. His plan is to save them all and ganger Doctor was thinking that too. "It's just so inspiring to hear me say it." Amy notices the different shoes one of them's wearing but can't tell them apart. Both the Doctors have "established a protocol." They both tell Amy to "breathe." Obviously for when she's having the baby. Doctor; "I'm starting to get a sense of just how impressive it is to hang out with me...Yowza." He...
