TLC's obsession with traveler culture continues as they launched another series exploring their world. "Little Shop of Gypsies" focuses on Thelma Madine, a dress designer. One of the most memorable things about "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" are those wild dresses the women wear. So why not shine a brighter spotlight on a woman who creates those fashions.
In this premiere episode, Thelma was looking to hire someone to help her out at the shop. One of the potential employees offered up an incredibly memorable quote.
After finding an outfit that reminded her of Lady Gaga, she said, "I know for a genuine fact, Lady Gaga, she’s definitely a devil worshipper. And Rihanna, during ‘Under My Umbrella,’ wind that backwards -- she’s talking tongues to the devil."
Now those are a couple of "genuine facts," so there's no need to look them up or try to verify them in any way,...

A teenager has slammed an upcoming Big Fat Gypsy Weddings spinoff show. Bridget Deadman, 17, was one of ten travellers who have taken part in Thelma's Gypsy Girls. The series follows dressmaker Thelma Madine as she teaches ten girls how to make their lavish wedding gowns. However, Deadman has criticised the show for portraying the girls taking part as "freaks". "Thelma wasn't interested in teaching us anything. It was just a freak show which made us look violent, tarty and stupid. At times it was like being on Jeremy Kyle," she told The Sun. "Every stereotype there is about gypsies was pushed to the hilt and Thelma and the camera (more)...
