Exclusive: Beverly Hills-based management and production company, Underground, has bolstered its team with the addition of Aaron Folbe as Manager, Deadline has learned.
Folbe joins after a little over two years at Industry Entertainment, where he served as Lit Coordinator. In his new role, he will continue to focus on supporting and developing the careers of writers, directors, and performers.
Folbe’s new role comes shortly following a major win for his clients Adam and Daniel Cooper, who in June sold their short story “I Used To Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale” to Amazon MGM Studios for feature development, with Ryan Gosling and his production company General Admission attached to produce. Folbe took on the Cooper twins as clients before his time at Industry Entertainment — while serving as an assistant at Artists First — and closed the deal in between his exit from that company and his Underground hire. Ryan Gosling is jumping into the world of horror by producing an adventure-comedy about zombies attempting to reintegrate into a "post-post-apocalyptic" society. Amazon MGM Studios recently landed the feature package based on the short story "I Used To Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale" from identical twin brothers Adam and Daniel Cooper, or The Cooper Twins, as they're also known.
Previously, Jeff Snieder reported on Amazon's acquisition of this package and claimed Gosling was also attached to star in the project. Deadline has clarified this is not true since there's no script yet, and casting hasn't started, but I'd love to see Gosling star in a zombie project, especially a comedic one!
The Cooper Twins are responsible for creating several acclaimed short films, several of which have been praised by notable festivals like TIFF and Cannes. Deadline reports that they've also worked on directing and editing trailers for some of...

Barbie star Ryan Gosling has a quirky-sounding film lined up: a post-apocalyptic zombie comedy for Amazon MGM.
Having proved to everyone who didn’t go and see The Nice Guys how good he is at comedy in last year’s Barbie, Ryan Gosling has another potentially amusing project lined up.
It’s called I Used To Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale, and Gosling will co-produce the film via his company General Admission. Amazon MGM Studios will distribute; it hasn’t been announced whether Gosling will actually star in it yet, but given actors often produce films for themselves to appear in, it’s highly probably that he will.
Described as a ‘post-post-apocalyptic’ film according to The Hollywood Reporter, I Used To Eat Brains… is said to be about former zombies who “struggle to reintegrate” – and struggle to switch over to vegetarianism, judging by the title.
The project has a slightly unusual origin.

Amazon MGM Studios hat sich die Verfilmungsrechte an der Kurzgeschichte „I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eate Kale“ gesichert.

Adam and Daniel Cooper’s short story, I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale, is getting a film adaptation, and Ryan Gosling’s General Admission production studio feels peckish. Amazon MGM Studios is shambling toward the project with an open wallet, with Ryan Gosling producing alongside his production partner Jessie Henderson through General Admission.
I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting where former zombies struggle to regenerate. No actors have been assigned to the project yet, nor is it clear if the Cooper Twins will pen the screenplay.
News about I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale shambles onto the scene after Gosling’s latest crowd-pleaser, The Fall Guy, was rushed to digital platforms after underperforming at the box office.
