When it announced weekly virtual programming in lieu of an in-person gathering earlier this month, VidCon also confirmed that it would be hosting a handful of so-called ‘tentpole’ events. Set to roll out on a monthly basis with a larger scope than its weekly programming, the first such broadcast -- dubbed VidCon Now Proud Together -- will take place on June 27 in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and in honor of Pride Month.
Hosted by Try Guys star Eugene Lee Yang and Mma fighter Mayhem Miller, Proud Together will feature musical performances as well as educational and entertainment segments. AmbersCloset will open the show with a discussion of the Black Lives Matter movement. Other creators slated to appear include: Jensen McRae, James Charles, Amanda Gorman, Kingsley, Calle y Poché, Gigi Gorgeous, Rebecca Black, Fabricio Seraphin, Ashley Strong, and Sam Tsui.

StyleHaul has posted a status update about its next original series. The fashion, beauty, and lifestyle-oriented network has shared the trailer for Relationship Status, which will arrive on Verizon’s Go90 app on April 29th.
Relationship Status will follow the romantic lives of its ensemble cast and will examine the ways in which social media affects modern relationships. The show’s ten episodes will follow its characters for a year, with platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat coming into play along the way.
As it did with previous original programs like Vanity, StyleHaul is using Relationship Status to appeal to the social media-hungry viewers who watch videos on the network’s partner channels. YouTube stars like Sam Tsui and Alexa Losey will have roles in the show, and its themes will resonate with a connected audience. “I think there’s something relatable to a lot of different ages,” cast member Milo Ventimiglia told Tubefilter.

Allison Williams showed off the first official photo of herself in character for NBC’s Peter Pan Live on NBC’s Today, Wednesday, Sept. 3.
First Photo Of Allison Williams As Peter Pan
The first official photo shows Williams dressed in a well-fitting, but boyish, green costume. The modern twist on Disney’s Peter Pan has Williams wearing a forest green vest with a mesh top and jade-colored shorts. Williams’ Peter Pan outfit is completed with leather cuffs and belts to hold her weapons, as well as simple lace-up leather boots. In the photo, Williams sits atop a ship’s mast.
Debuting the photo on Today, Williams was quick to clear up any confusion regarding her hair for the production. Playing Peter requires Williams to trade in her long hair for a boyish pixie cut, but the actress says she will be wearing a wig for the role.

For the past six years, Kurt Hugo Schneider has wowed YouTube audiences with his intricate cover song videos, which make use of his skills as a director, editor, arranger, and musician. Schneider is now set to show off those filmmaking talents with a feature film, and he's debuting it with a YouTube live stream. Schenider's film is called College Musical, and it began four years ago, when Schneider was a student at Yale University. He enlisted his close friend, frequent collaborator, and fellow Yalie Sam Tsui to star in a musical about a student who bonds with his tutor through the power of song. The film's cast also features Allison Williams; the Girls star was also a classmate of Schneider's. While he was still an undergrad, Schneider released a four-episode College Musical web series. That production saw some success, so Schneider decided to turn it into a 90-minute movie. Four years later,...

Fullscreen is leveraging the offline personalities of its creative partners. The company that stands as one of YouTube's most popular multi-channel networks has announced Intour, a live event that will feature at least a dozen YouTube creators. In order to put on this live event, Fullscreen has turned to Kevin Lyman, who is best known for creating Warped Tour. The yearly punk rock festival caters to a young audience, and Intour will similarly target the tween and teen fans of popular YouTube stars. “When approached by Fullscreen to help produce this event, it made total sense given our history of developing longstanding music festivals,” said Lyman, whose company is called 4Fini. “These creators have built incredible relationships with fans with their videos, and we’re excited to bring that online experience off the screens and onto the stage.” Intour will take place on September 13th at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Kurt Hugo Schneider, the YouTube star whose collection covers and mash-ups has been viewed over 466 million times, recently made our headlines when he teamed up with the Alloy Digital studio. One of Kurt's first orders of business after becoming a member of Alloy was the production of a one-hour live special, KHSLive!. The concert aired on November 17 on Kurt's YouTube channel. "We've wanted to do live performing for a while." explained Schneider. "We have a global fanbase, so I've wanted to find a way to perform live for All of my fans, no matter where they are. Since my audience lives on YouTube, it seems like the perfect venue to put on such a show and reach all of our audience." Schneider was joined by three other performers: Megan Nicole, Max Schneider, and Sam Tsui, whose amazing singing ability has made him more popular on the Khs channel than Schneider himself.

Alloy Digital, the distribution company that has can count Smosh and Clevver among its signed clients, today added another big name to its repertoire. Alloy has announced that Kurt Hugo Schneider, the YouTube musician who has earned over 460 million video views, has agreed to partner with the network. "Alloy has a great track record helping content creators maximize their potential,” commented Schneider. “I'm excited to work with Alloy on new opportunities to expand my brand and offer great new content for my fans." Schneider has gained a huge following thanks to his cover versions of popular songs, which often feature the talented pianist playing multiple instruments at once (accomplished by splicing together various takes). Though Schneider is the main performer on his eponymous channel, he features several other musicians on the page, most notably Sam Tsui, a big-voiced singer who, among other pursuits, performs as a one man a capella group.

The last few years we have been witnessing this trend of young talented singers who hope to get noticed by putting up videos on YouTube singing their own version of several current hit songs. Think of Sam Tsui, Nataly Dawn and Esmee Denters, and of course one of the most famous examples, who now has a succesfull singing career, is that of teen idol Justin Bieber, who got noticed by Usher.
It seems that now in India we have found one young talented boy named Armaan Malik. Malik gained a lot of curiosity and a lot of views in the last few months when he released his version of Bruno Mars’ song ‘Just the Way You Are’.
The video went viral on Twitter and Facebook, after actress Priyanka Chopra praised the 16-year old and has since then been viewed more than 60000 times. Armaan is really happy with the response he...

We loved this medley of 2011's biggest pop hits by YouTubers Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider -- even though we'll admit it might be a tad early for a year-end retrospective. (But if Justin Bieber can release his Christmas album in October, maybe anything goes this year!)

Tonight, The Sing-Off is back with part two of its finale, which means digital correspondent Sam Tsui is back to give us the high notes and the low down on the eight groups taking the stage.
Last week, eight impressive and diverse a cappella groups performed (watch my three favorite numbers from the night!), and two -- The Fannin Family and Cat's Pajamas -- were eliminated by the judges. Tonight, these eight groups will fight for Ben, Sara and Shawn's approval, and again, two will be sent home before the night is over.

The Sing-Off returns to NBC this Monday, with lots of exciting changes in tow.
Not only will brand-new judge Sara Bareilles join the illustrious ranks of Ben Folds and Shawn Stockman, but an unprecedented sixteen groups are competing for the a capella title in season 3 -- including the show's first all-sibling ensemble, an all-female ensemble, multiple groups boasting members from the past two seasons of The Sing-Off, one group that originally hails from Africa and another whose members are still in high school.
It's a diverse and full crowd that we'll see take the stage when the a cappella-thon premieres at 8pm on Monday, September 19, which should make the music all the more beautiful to our ears. But with 16 groups kicking off the competition, it might be a little hard to keep them all straight at first.
