At the Nordic International Film Festival closing night celebration at Gitano, after the awards ceremony hosted by Sarita Choudhury at the Roxy Cinema, my fellow jury member Craig Difrancia spoke with me about his role as Carmine Persico in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, which stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. Craig also told me how important Peter Farrelly’s Green Book was to Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali and Nick Vallelonga, and he noted that Jérémie Guez’s upcoming film The Sound Of Philadelphia is going to be 'epic'. Other members of the jury included Richard Thomas (who is starring opposite Brian Cox and Grantham Coleman in Robert Schenkkan’s The Great Society at the Vivian Beaumont theatre), Adam Schartoff, and David Schwartz.

This year’s Nordic International Film Festival is changing locations.
With dates set for Oct. 16-20, the fifth annual event will move to the Roxy Cinema at The Roxy Hotel in New York. Panels and parties will take place at the Park Avenue outpost of the Stockholm museum Fotografiska.
Started by two Swedish born filmmakers based in New York, Linnea Larsdotter and Johan Matton, the festival boasts its status as the “biggest film festival outside Europe.” The silent theme for this year’s progressive official program is climate change.
Niff will present one world premiere, six international premieres, two North American premieres, one U.S. premiere and 11 New York premieres among its multiple programs. 79 percent of the films to be shown this year also include at least one woman in power. Additionally, the festival promises a focus on up-and-coming talent to screen in its Aurora Borealis category — part of its...

"Forget about everything else... just go." An official trailer has debuted for the indie film Till We Meet Again, a relationship drama about a couple that gets into a fight and separates while traveling in Thailand. The film is made by a Thai filmmaker named Bank Tangjaitrong, who studied in the Us, and is making his debut. This is the first time I've heard about this film (via Indiewire) but it sounds quite unique. Starring Johan Matton and Linnea Larsdotter as Erik and Joanna, the film cuts between the thier past life in New York and their trip in Thailand. The cast includes Emrhys Cooper, Astrea Campbell-Cobb and Vithaya Pansingram. The looks like a very lovely yet emotionally devastating drama about life and love. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Bank Tangjaitrong's Till We Meet Again, direct from YouTube: A multi layered indie drama about a young New York couple,...

Bank Tangjaitrong’s “Till We Meet Again” follows a disenchanted couple and the separate paths they follow during a quest to find themselves and reawaken their relationship in Thailand. Starring Johan Matton (“Nurse Jackie”) and Linnea Larsdotter (“Indigo”) as Erik and Joanna, the film cuts back between the couple’s past life in New York and their journey in Thailand where they argue and eventually split up. We follow them on their separate journeys as Erik crosses paths with three backpackers and Joanna meets up with a childhood friend, and all the while we learn about who they are and the beginnings of their relationship. The film also co-stars Emrhys Cooper (“Mamma Mia”), Astrea Campbell-Cobb (“Gotham”) and Vithaya Pansingram (The Hangover II). Watch the exclusive trailer below.
