Kathy Ceroni is a founding partner at the entertainment law firm, Morin Charnetski Ceroni LLP, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her practice focuses primarily on representing Canadian and international studios, independent producers, content producers, literary, artistic and business clients in all aspects of the development, production, financing, licensing, distribution and merchandising of film, television, publishing, theatrical, music and new media products.
Kathy has extensive experience in advising clients on complex format and literary option/acquisition agreements, co-venture agreements, international and domestic co-production agreements, production releases, key creative, talent and sponsorship agreements, broadcast licenses, agency agreements, distribution agreements, interim financing transactions, rights clearance issues, cultural industry collective agreements and Canadian film and television tax incentives, merchandise licensing, copyright, trademark, insurance and corporate issues. Prior to Morin Charnetski Ceroni LLP, Kathy was a partner at another entertainment and media law boutique law firm for over 10 years. Before that, Kathy served as legal and production counsel to one of Canada's leading producers of factual, factual entertainment, reality, documentary, format, kids and scripted television programming. Prior to that, she was Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs at one of the world's leading international producers and distributors of children's animated content. She also spent several years in private practice as an entertainment lawyer at two other leading Canadian law firms.
