Michael Lutz(VI)
- Composer
- Sound Department
Michael Lutz grew up in Edgewood, TX. He began his musical journey in 6th grade playing flute. He played flute all the way until his senior year at the University of Arkansas. Along the way, Michael realized that playing the flute or becoming a band director was not his passion. While excelling in music theory classes, Michael began experimenting with chord progressions and counter melodies and ended up writing several classical pieces before he graduated. He officially changed his major from Music Education to Music Composition his last semester at Arkansas, Spring of 2011. Michael then earned his Master of Music at Oklahoma City University, graduating in Spring of 2013.
Michael scored his first film Reset (2011) in Summer of 2011. Music for that short film was written in less than 48 hours, as it was an entry in the Roswell Sci-Fi Film Festival. Subject 413 (2012), Tailed (2013), and Singularita (2014) were all scored under the same festival and circumstances. 3 Ways to Kill a Mook (2012) was Michael's first film outside of the Roswell Sci-Fi Film Festival. 3 Ways To Kill A Mook had a silver screen premier in Wichita Falls, TX August of 2012. Tailed (2013) had success outside the Roswell Sci-Fi Film Festival and became a web series, found on YouTube and iTunes.
Between films, Michael Lutz is an active recording engineer as well. He has been credited on two CD's as recording engineer; one for Northeastern State University's Jazz Program (2015) and one for Oklahoma State University's Jazz Program (2017).
