Phanith Sovann

Phanith Rama Sovann was born in a refugee camp in Thailand, Kao I Dang. Her family moved to the US in 1991 and has
resided in California ever since. Sovann started singing since age 2
and performed on stage at church at age 6. She enrolled in private
piano lessons at age 6 and wrote her first song at age 8. Throughout
her school years, she took several singing and music classes including
orchestra, choir, dance, and cheer. She has always been passionate
about performing and inspiring others to pursue their dreams. She began
leading worship at church at age 12. The same year, Sovann became the
leader of a newly formed youth worship band at church. She was crowned
Ms. Jackrabbit 2007 at Long Beach Polytechnic High School senior year
of High School. Sovann is involved with many community service
activities locally and abroad,especially in her motherland, Cambodia.
Junior year of college, she started Cambodian Awareness Organization
which raises awareness about the Cambodian community as well as raise
funds to do different mission trips in Cambodia. Sovann graduated from
the University of California, Irvine in 2010 with a degree in Women's
Studies and a minor in Anthropology. She is also pursuing a full-time
career in singing, acting, and modeling.
