My namesake, Ross Lachlan McKinnon, who was my uncle, was a celebrated international Rugby League player, having toured with the Australian team in the 1937/38 Kangaroo Tour of the United Kingdom and France.
I sang in The Canterbury Boys High School choir at the grand opening of the Sydney Opera House on October 20th, 1973 - which was also my 14th birthday.
