Saturday nights are no longer for going out - The X Factor is finally returning to our small screens this weekend with new hosts, a fresh judging panel and a fair few format shake-ups.
But whatever happened to the finalists of the first ever series - "barking bloody mad" Rowetta Satchell, red-haired wannabe rocker Tabby Callaghan, cheesy best friend duo 2 to Go and eventual winner Steve Brookstein?
Roberta Howett
Roberta Howett went from unhappy telecommunications worker to Louis Walsh's Dublin darling after her successful X Factor audition. But perhaps it was the curse of the Walsh that resulted in her early exit from the series when she became the first act to be eliminated.
Now 33, Roberta appeared on the debut album of Spanish composer Toni Castells in 2007. She finally released her debut album in 2010, its lead single 'Beautiful Lies' became her first Top 40 single in the Irish Singles Chart,...

‘The X Factor’ contestants finally performed live tonight, and things got totally heated when the judges each eliminated someone from their group. Did you agree with their choices, HollywoodLifers?
It’s the moment all X Factor fans have been waiting for! Things are always spicier when the show is live and anything can happen — especially since the audience helped influence the judge’s decisions via social media!
Top 12 ‘X Factor’ Contestants Perform Live For First Time
Here are the top 12 out of 16 contestants advancing on to the next round:
Ellona Santiago, 17, must have thought she was performing at a paying gig at Caesar’s Palace instead of a TV show, because Wow! She absolutely brought her A game tonight, from her perfect and sexy dance moves that accompanied a pitch-perfect rendition of “Til The World Ends.” She totally entertained the crowd and blew the judges away, making it a tough act to follow.

Are you a Demi, a Kelly, a Paulina or — heaven forbid — a Simon? Watch HollywoodLife.com’s exclusive new ‘X Factor’ video and find out!
Not only does The X Factor return to Fox on Oct. 29 after a two-week hiatus, but the hit singing competition is finally going live! We’re about to see the judges like never before under the newly added pressure of live television, and in this new video — obtained exclusively by HollywoodLife.com – Fox wants to know: Which judge are you?
If you identify with Kelly Rowland, that means you feel flirty, bootylicious (duh!) and confident; if you embrace your inner Demi Lovato, you’re excitable, sweet and sassy; being a Paulina Rubio means you’re bold, caliente and fierce; and lastly, one who identifies with Simon Cowell is “simply irresistible.” No other adjectives needed, apparently.

Tonight, the top 16 contestants are set after the final Four Chair Challenge rounded out the competition! Did you agree with the judge’s choices, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
Simon Cowell finished up choosing his top four slots for Groups tonight — and the results may surprise you!
Groups On ‘The X Factor’: Who Got Eliminated
Emotions ran high tonight, as the top 16 slots were officially filled.
The night started with Glamour, Girls United, Restless Road, and Wild Thingz holding court in the top four slots.
Eliminations were emotional tonight, and here they are, in order:
Wild Thingz lost their spot right away — but I wasn’t crazy about them anyway. They reminded me of Thing 1 and Thing 2, they way they ran amok onstage last night, just screaming “Party Rock Anthem” like banshees.
Yellow House Canyon gets eliminated next, because of a forgettable “Hell On Heels” performance. Plus, Demi Lovato said...

‘The X Factor’ boasted major sets of pipes tonight — plus some down-home Southern charm — that got 4 nods of approval for everyone!
The talent on tonight’s episode of ‘X Factor’ was mostly out of control, and Simon Cowell was super-gushy toward everyone, prompting me to think that the soon-to-be dad is starting to get in touch with his innermost sweet feelings. He even gave someone a second shot — what?!
South Carolina Charm
The first yes of the night went to a rugged South Carolina high school senior, 18-year-old Andrew Scholz. He was so handsome, in fact, that it distracted the female judges a bit at first, will Kelly Rowland calling him a “Corn-fed country boy” with a look of love in her eyes! However, when he sang “Too Close,” it was more country boy at a karaoke bar and the ladies were hesitant — making Andrew sadly look like he just...
