Two powerhouse vocalists brought the house down during the final battle round on last night's all-new episode of Clash of the Cover Bands. Performing the music of Aretha Franklin was Elaine Gibbs, who's previously shared the stage with some of the biggest names in R&b, pop and gospel, from Justin Timberlake to Shirley Caesar. Then there was Elisa Furr, a long-time Las Vegas headliner whose original songs have been featured in more than 8,000 TV shows and five feature films, covering the music of Céline Dion. The show's judges Meghan Trainor, Adam Lambert and Ester Dean watched as the two went head-to-head for a chance to win $10,000—plus a $25,000...

A "Natural"-born talent! This week's Clash of the Cover Bands, airing tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 17, showcases the "Powerhouse Vocals" of Elisa Furr, a Celine Dion tribute artist, and Elaine Gibbs covering the music of Aretha Franklin. An exclusive sneak peek at Elaine's performance of the Queen of Soul's "(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman" proves that Elaine is the one to beat. "We have a lot of legends," Elaine explains before taking the stage in costume as Aretha, "but she stands alone." A life-long singer, Elaine has performed in over 25 countries with some of the biggest names in the world of R&b, pop...

The word “Finale” — spelled out in all caps using pure molten lava — bubbled and exploded across a giant electronic screen. A lithe young woman in a red-and-white striped, fur-trimmed bathing suit writhed seductively inside an oversized snow globe. And Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene, and Josh Krajcik were reduced to blubbering, carol-singing wrecks.
The message may not have been subtle, but let’s be honest, that’s never really been Simon Cowell’s forte: In No Particular Order, The X Factor reminded us in incredibly loud and extremely close-up fashion, that Christmastime is here; that Nicole HarbingerOfDoom is a master of...

L.A. Reid — music mogul, X Factor judge, and coach of the Boys category for Fox’s U.S. spinoff of Simon Cowell’s British competition series — talked to reporters today about why he’s looking forward to mentoring Brian “Astro” Bradley, Phillip Lomax, Marcus Canty, and Chris Rene. “It was tough to choose only four,” he said. “What would have been simple is if I could have had five. But I’m not Simon.” (Cowell ended up flying all the way to Miami to pick up a fifth team member for the Girls, 19-year-old Melanie Amaro. “I thought she was fantastic,...

Our X Factor correspondent Tony Cowell is giving ReelzChannel a behind-the-scenes look at our favorite singing competition. Our exclusive look at The X Factor includes revealing interviews with creator and star Simon Cowell and lead choreographer Brian Friedman.
For "Inside the X Factor" Tony Cowell gets his younger brother Simon to talk candidly about fellow judges, the talent in the Us and why he wanted hidden cameras on the set. The opinionated judge also discusses a recent conversation he had with Ryan Seacrest, and how L.A. Reid is the most competitive person he has ever known.
Cowell also offers answers to some of our most pressing X Factor questions such as: what did he mean when he compared Paula Abdul to a puppy? And what happened that made Simon say that Nicole Scherzinger could be crazier than Abdul? Though after seeing this week's elimination of Elaine Gibbs, we think we...

And the Emmy nominees for Best Supporting Object in the Trumped-Up Reality-Show Drama of The X Factor‘s Top 17 Announcement Episode are: Nicole Shapeshifter’s shimmering eyelashes; the pillow used to mop up Stacy Francis’ tears-and-mascara gravy; the matching “wedding bands” worn by all three (!) members of rejected boy band The Anser; Tora Woloshin’s floppy white hat; and Steve Jones’ soft but muscular embrace. And the statuette goes to…
…the pillow used to mop up…wait! Simon Cowell is rushing the stage. He’s calling an audible and changing the script. The winner is Christa Collins’ “Creepy/Awesome Baby on a Lilypad” Hat!

After a giant montage o' filler, "The X Factor" gets down to business whittling the Top 32 to the Top 16, four from each of the four categories: girls, boys, over 30s and groups.
My predictions (and also my hopes) before they are revealed (and I am spoiler free) are girls - Drew Ryniewicz, Caitlin Koch, Rachel Crow and Melanie Amaro; boys - Tim Cifers, Chris Rene, Brennin Hunt and Phillip Lomax; over 30s - Stacey Francis, Leroy Bell, Josh Krajcik and James Kenney; groups - Lakoda Rayne, Stereo Hoggz and ... well, honestly, I'd take Jazzlyn Little and Tora Woloshin and not add two more groups. And then I'd drop Lomax for Christa Collins. But if I had to pick a fourth group, 4Shore and the Brewer Boys.
Ok, so let's see how right (or wrong) I turn out to be.

As sure as L.A. Reid will bring the dapper. As certainly as that Pussycat Dolls woman will serve misty eye and trembling lower lip. As indubitably as Simon Cowell will overwork his good news/bad news fakeout face. And as undoubtedly as Paula Abdul’s “Groups” category will be the surprise droppings in the freshly bathed baby’s diaper, The X Factor will announce its 16 finalists during Tuesday night’s long and winding (and probably filler-packed) episode.
As the episode rolls on, I’ll update you on who’s in, and who’s out in all four categories — Girls Under...

Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, La Reid and Nicole Scherzinger have been assigned their mentoring categories on The X Factor USA. The judges, who were earlier tasked with choosing 32 singers to progress to the Judges' Houses stage of the competition, learned which group they will work with for the remainder of the season during Thursday night's broadcast. First to learn her category was Scherzinger, who will mentor the Over 30s. The eight acts who will work to impress the Pussycat Dolls singer in the hopes of making it to the live shows are Elaine Gibbs, Tiger Budbill, Leroy Bell, James Kenney, Josh Krajcik, Christa Collins, Dexter Haygood and Stacey Francis. Abdul was then given the Groups, a task which she earlier confessed would be a tall order for whichever panelist was to take it on. She will be forced to pick between (more)...
