New York Times bestselling political conspiracy thriller “The Night Agent” will get the silver screen treatment by Netflix. The streamer has greenlit the series for a book-to-tv adaptation, tapping creator Shawn Ryan to executive produce. The show will hail from Sony Pictures Television.

Exclusive: A pandemic read has led to a series order at Netflix. The streamer has greenlighted The Night Agent, a political conspiracy thriller series created by Shawn Ryan based on author Matthew Quirk’s 2019 New York Times bestseller. Seth Gordon is set to direct the first episode of the series, which comes from Sony Pictures Television Studios, where Ryan and Gordon are under overall deals.

Mythology Entertainment signed a first look deal on Thursday with 20th Century Fox Television and newly formed Fox 21 Television Studios to develop and produce broadcast, cable, and digital scripted series.
