Tat Productions and production-distribution outfit Miam! Animation, both from France, and Belgian broadcaster Ketnet-vrt have won the Tributes Awards at this year’s in-person Cartoon Forum, Europe’s premier animated TV series forum which closed today in Toulouse.
One of leading studios in the flourishing animation region of Occitania, which includes Toulouse, Tat Productions took the Producer of the Year Prize. The company was founded in 2000 by David Alaux, Eric Tosti and Jean-Francois Tosti. Tat snagged an International Emmy Award for the TV show “The Jungle Bunch to The Rescue” in 2015.
It is also behind features “Terra Willy” and “The Adventures of Pil” and is now producing the Kinology-sold “Argonuts” a comedy adventure budgeted north of $12 million and directed by David Alaux, who helmed Tat’s first feature, “The Jungle Bunch,” one of the highest-grossing French productions outside France in 2017. Tat is also developing two more features: “The Jungle Bunch 2″ and “Pets on a Train.

Emmy-winning French animation production-distribution company Dandelooo has announced a new deal with Czech production company Krutart for the upcoming 2D animated series “Kosmix.”
The announcement was made as Dandeloo streams two shorts, “Shooom’s Odyssey” and “Hungry Bear Tales,” in Competition and a Work in Progress presentation for its 30-minute TV short, “Mum is Pouring Rain,” at this year’s Annecy Intl. Animation Film Festival.
Also, the company’s 2D animated series “Stinky Dog,” a France Televisions commission, will launch on the broadcaster’s Okoo streaming platform during this year’s Mifa Market.
In the Krutart deal, Dandelooo picks up exclusive worldwide distribution rights for the 4 to 8-year-old series, co-produced by Krutart and Czech public broadcaster Czech Television. It’s directed by Vojtěch Dudek and Klára Jůzová.

Annecy, France — In a major strategic move by one of Europe’s preeminent animation production houses, Folivari’s Didier Brunner, producer of the Academy Award nominated “Ernest & Celestine,” has launched an animation studio, Fost Studio.
Co-founded by Folivari executives Damien Brunner and Thibaut Ruby, who will serve as its president and managing director, Fost Studio will be in charge of some of the rough and clean animation on “Wolfwalkers,” the new feature from two-time Academy nominee Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart, and produced by Cartoon Saloon.
Fost Studio will oversee most backgrounds, all the animation and the overall production supervision on “Stinky Dog,” a 52-part TV series adaption of Marc Boutavant and Colas Gutman’s bestselling books, which have sold 500,000 copies in France. Davy Durand and Stéphane Aubier and Vincent Patar (“A Town Called Panic”) direct.
