- "The Infinite Need" was based on Mandy's own experience paying $40 for a 7 minute workshop with a casting director in New York where she was interrupted several times while performing a cold read for a Casting Director (who was late for the session), and then told she needed to sign up for a $300 on-camera class.
- Her show 'MUTHA' is based on her real-life experience as a three time hip hop karaoke champion, and mother.

- Was named Mandy after the Barry Manilow song.
- Her short film 'The Right Man' was created because the director, Dale Sood, was coming to LA for a visit and wanted to shoot something with palm trees in it for his reel. Mandy learned from a friend that there is a huge rat infestation problem in the palm trees in LA and started writing the story and the character of Magda from there.
- First hip hop karaoke song was "Push It" by Salt 'N' Pepa - which was her second choice. She originally signed up to perform 'Gasface' by 3rd Bass, but switched songs because she felt like the crowd really wanted to dance.
- Originally studied Bio-Medical Science at the University of Guelph.
- Spent five years doing karaoke two to three nights a week at the Gladstone in Toronto with host Peter Styles, and had a collection of 5000 songs in her home that she would practice with while running her cheerleading company FlyGirl in her home office in Parkdale.
