The trailer for Tini’s new album, Un Mechón de Pelo, starts with the Argentine pop star looking at herself in the mirror with tears in her eyes. She’s holding metal scissors in one hand and a lock of her brown hair in another. A haunting, operatic voice sings in the background while the voice of a little girl screams faintly behind her. Then Tini snips away.
“Sometimes I think I’m crazy. Because I felt crazy,” she recites as tears fall from her eyes. “Crazy like the sea...

In our Q&a feature series Tell Me Más, we ask some of our favorite Latinx artists to answer the questions only their BFFs know about them, revealing everything from their most recent read to the songs that get them hyped. This month, we sit down with Argentinian triple threat and global sensation Tini.
For many celebrities who start their careers as child stars, there comes a time when they have to shed the juvenile skin that has come to define their artistry in order to enter the next stage of their career and earn respect from more mature audiences. But for multitalented Argentinian sensation Tini, real name Martina Stoessel, when the time came to move on from her Disney persona of Violetta, rather than pull the rip cord and jettison her wholesome image for an altogether edgier one, she chose to reconcile who she had been for millions of...

Ahead of International Day of the Girl (October 11), Disney launched a new global video series offering advice and inspiration on achieving success for the next generation of young leaders around the globe.
The #DreamBigPrincess video series, produced and directed by young women from the United Nations Foundation's Girl Up initiative, shares the stories of 20 trailblazing women across technology, entertainment, medicine, law, sports, arts, science, fashion and politics to show the next generation what’s possible if you dream big.
“Dreaming big is one of the most important things any of us can do – to keep aiming higher,” says Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm, who was interviewed for the series by Maud Webster, age 16, from the UK. “The #DreamBigPrincess series is giving a voice to a group of talented young women, helping them tell stories that kids can learn from, whatever their ambition.”

The success of Disney’s animated behemoth Frozen is something that was hard to imagine last November. The studio had not put a lot behind the film’s marketing campaign (save a misleading trailer that focused on comic relief characters Sven and Olaf) and sandwiched the release between two major box office guarantees, the sequels to The Hunger Games and The Hobbit. But, audiences of young girls and their parents could not get enough of the touching story of two sisters, as well as the delightful musical numbers. (We really need to let it go with all of the “Let It Go” videos online.) Word-of-mouth quickly spread and at the time of the film’s Blu-Ray and DVD release, it still lingers in the lower part of the weekend box office Top 10 – 16 weeks after it opened. Also, the film is the biggest animated hit in Disney’s history, internationally (although...

Frozen is one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, raking in over $1 billion worldwide in barely 4 months. If you ignore inflation or re-releases, it is the highest-grossing film from Walt Disney Animation Studios ever. A few weeks ago, it became the first of Disney’s (not Pixar’s) animated features to win the Best Animated Feature Oscar since that category’s inception in 2001. And you can’t go far online without finding a video of someone singing its Oscar-winning anthem “Let It Go.” Hell, you can watch a video of people singing it in multiple languages, one which has racked up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and the like. Thus, it’s not wrong to say that Frozen has become a sensation the likes of which we haven’t seen from Disney’s animation arm since the heyday of their Renaissance period in the early 1990s.
