"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" adapts Nintendo's beloved video game franchise about the mustachioed Italian-American plumber who fights evil turtles as much as he does clogged toilets (if not more). This is the first film adaptation of the "Super Mario" games in 30 years, the last attempt being the infamous 1993 live-action film "Super Mario Bros."
That film took some nightmarish creative liberties with the character designs, using practical effects to try and recreate the denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom in live action. The 2023 film from Illumination Entertainment, however, uses CG animation. As a result, the ensemble — even the inhuman characters like Bowser (Jack Black) and Donkey Kong (Seth Rogen) — look more or less identical to their video game appearances. Even so, the film has been met with reticence, due to the controversial casting of celebrity voice actor -- in particular Chris Pratt as Mario. The actor even acknowledged the backlash...

The first reactions from the Los Angeles premiere of The Super Mario Bros. Movie have come in and it’s looking like you won’t want to warp ahead, with many praising the movie as the best possible take on the classic video game…with due respect to Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, of course.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is shaping up to be a fully realized adaptation that has even moved some viewers to tears. Much of this comes from the nostalgia factor, which is expected. And it seems that viewers should also be on the lookout for some mushroom-sized easter eggs throughout the movie.
The Super Mario Bros movie is an utterly delightful thrill ride that is as joyful as it is magical. It's a movie that is for Mario fans first, and despite a somewhat shallow narrative, is a blast. Nearly moved me to tears seeing...

The follow up to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may be the most highly-anticipated video game sequel since Half-Life 3 and Metroid Prime 4, and for good reason: the first game is a masterpiece, a perfect translation of the classic Zelda formula into a modern open-world setting brimming with life and locations to explore. It’s certainly one of the best Zelda games ever made, and perhaps even the best, although I’m sure some of you will debate that in the comments.
In short, the sequel has some big shoes to fill. But if the game’s latest teaser is any indication, it looks like Nintendo will at the very least deliver a satisfying continuation of the Breath of the Wild story and aesthetic, if not something as revolutionary as the original. There’s more to the E3 2021 trailer than just beautiful visuals and scene setting, though.

How long has it been now since Final Fantasy Xv was confirmed as being in development? Months? Years? Infinity? It certainly feels like the latter option sometimes. However long the wait has been for a proper release date has been, it will finally be over tonight when Square Enix announces it at a special event in Los Angeles at 10pm Est / 3am BST / 7am Pacific.
For those of you intending to watch the entire thing online, Twitch, YouTube and Xbox One will all have their own streams for you to watch at your convenience and, judging by Square Enix’s comments, it’s not something fans will want to miss.
The Japanese studio says there will be “major announcements and surprises,” along with “all kinds of wonderful stuff never seen or heard before!”
The event will be hosted by Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller and Tim Gettys at the Shrine Auditorium in La and,...

Ten years in the making, Final Fantasy Xv will finally emerge from a troubled development later in 2016 – exactly when will surely be revealed during this month’s Uncovered event.
Threatening to spoil the surprise ahead of time is a report unearthed by Gematsu, signalling that the long-awaited RPG sequel may be on course to hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 30. According to the outlet, the information that surfaced was “corroborated by three independent sources,” though it’s still worth taking said rumor with a grain of salt until Square takes to the stage in two weeks’ time.
First hatched as Versus Xiii all the way back in 2006, Square Enix’s sequel evolved into Final Fantasy Xv once the creative team opted to tell the story within one core experience, as opposed to spilling over into sequels in the vein of Final Fantasy Xiii.

Greg Miller, Colin Moriarty, Nick Scarpino, and Tim Gettys are starting off 2015 with a huge change in their lives. The four men behind the Kinda Funny YouTube channel have quit their jobs at IGN to focus their sole attention on their channel and launch a new one called Kinda Funny Games.
The Kinda Funny Games channel will feature daily let’s play videos, a new gaming podcast called The Kinda Funny Gamescast, and a streaming morning show via Twitch called Colin & Greg Live. The Kinda Funny team has also created a separate Patreon account for their new channel so fans can fund the four guys’ video game-themed initiative separate from their other work. Supporters on Patreon will gain early access to things like exclusive podcast episodes before the content made available for free on YouTube.
