- Eric Ernerstedt was born Kent Eric Ernerstedt in Umeå, Sweden, and grew up in the small town of Lycksele in southern Lapland. Both his parents are Swedish and hail from villages in the region. Eric attended public school in Lycksele, where he took evening classes in theatre, and he wrote and acted in various school musicals. At the age of 16 he moved to Stockholm to attend the Royal Swedish Ballet School's contemporary program, from which he graduated in 2005.
Upon graduation Eric was accepted into the two year long, vanguard training program for young dancers, called D.A.N.C.E., or Dance Apprentice Network aCross Europe. There he got the unique possibility of working with four of Europe's most prominent contemporary choreographers, including William Forsythe and Wayne McGregor. Following these two years, Eric worked on stage as a dancer with companies like Skånes Dansteater, Malmö, Sweden, and Norrdans, Härnösand, Sweden, as well as doing freelance work in Sweden and internationally.
With the element of acting always being present in the various dance works Eric had been performing, in 2012 he decided to expand his artistic vocabulary further, and started taking on roles geared toward acting. He has since done several short films, commercials and minor roles in TV-series. In fall 2017, Eric will appear as an international character in season two of TV4 comedy series Ack Värmland, and in spring/summer 2018 Swedish Television will air the animated romantic comedy Topp 3, where Eric does the voice of the male lead, Anton.
Eric enjoys the challenge of staying present during whatever circumstances that may arise while bringing a character to life, and he also takes great pleasure in improvising. He practices meditation daily, and believes that this type of training to stay present translates well into working in ever-changing conditions in front of the camera and on stage. He speaks five languages fluently, and hopes to learn more of them, as well as to use these language skills in future roles.- IMDb Mini Biography By: EE
