Todd Leatherman is a documentary cameraperson based in Brooklyn, New York. He is frequently credited as a cinematographer, assistant camera and camera operator on documentary films for networks, streamers, NGOs and artists. Inspired by the filmmaking techniques of classic and modern cinema, he is particularly focused on finding innovative ways of capturing truly cinematic images within the realistic scope of documentary productions. While he is naturally drawn to projects concerning political and social issues, he has experience filming a wide range of documentary genres in many corners of the globe.
Todd is also a frequent collaborator of the Shoah Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Steven Spielberg to record the visual testimonies of Holocaust survivors and ensure their accounts are preserved for generations to come. He is proud to have filmed many survivor testimonies over the course of his career.
Todd's work has appeared on a variety of platforms including HBO, Max, Netflix, Showtime, Apple TV, Disney+, AMC, Amazon, PBS, Hulu, Discovery+ and National Geographic. He is an FAA-licensed drone pilot and a graduate of the University of Maryland and the New York Film Academy. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner, Erica, and their beloved pup, Stella.
