Commander of the Jasenovac concentration camp (Jasenovac, Croatia) during World War II. The camp became known for brutality that shocked even Nazi officials. Invited to Argentinia in 1947 by
Juan Domingo Perón, he lived in that country under his real name. He was extradited to Croatia in 1998 to stand trial for crimes against humanity. His wife, who worked at Jasenovac, was also extradited to Croatia, but was released for lack of evidence.
