Shane Ashton
- Music Department
Having been born with a passion for music, Shane Ashton has been
singing and performing for crowds since he was two years old. Born in
the small, Northern Wisconsin town of Laona, Shane relocated to
Milwaukee to attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to pursue a
degree in music. Since college, Shane has become a registered BMI
songwriter and regular performer in the Milwaukee nightlife scene, and
is currently performing with Milwaukee-area ten-piece band, Platinum.
Shane's first single "Heartbeat" was featured in the independent film THE OPEN WEEKEND. "Heartbeat" can also be found on the charity album "Indigo," which proceeds go to support The Trevor Project. Shane recently placed in the top five in the West Hollywood Original Song Writing Contest for his original song "Earthquake."
Shane spent his summer 2012 performing at music festivals around the Midwest including on the Miller Lite Main Stage at the Milwaukee Summerfest grounds with his troupe of six dancers for a one hour set. Pumping up a packed crowd with their high octane dance routines, Shane performed many of his original songs from his forthcoming independent album, in addition to some pulsating covers like "Turn Me On," "Hold It Against Me" and his signature "At Last."
Garnering material from his own life, Shane has long been writing his own songs based on his life experiences. Shane is currently writing new material, recording and producing his first album, which he describes as an "urban pop" sound. The yet untitled album will be out next year with the first two singles available on iTunes now.
