Daryl Belbin
- Writer
- Director
- Producer
Daryl Belbin is a Welsh Writer/Director based in Tauranga, New Zealand.
With a keen sense of story and an innate understanding of cinema, Daryl's projects are as original as they are enthralling, and all penned from the heart. An interest in anthropology gives a sound foundation on which to build characters and situations. Add to this a gift for cutting edge comedy and you have a man who can move an audience to tears one moment, while eliciting belly-laughs in the next.
Daryl has worked in the Film and TV industry for seven years in which time he's built strong relationships in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. He's created numerous screenplays, treatments and bibles, and won New Zealand Writers Guild SEED funding twice (The Watchmaker and The Geometry of Souls).
Daryl was one of the writers chosen for the NZFC 'speed dating' event as part of the A2Z producing course. He is involved with numerous NZ and UK producers and works closely with Nicola and Matt Pearcey of PicNik Entertainment. As well as writing, Daryl has provided script analysis for Steve Barr at The Gibson Group, and The NZWG.
Daryl has written and directed three short films Multi-Story, A Place of Shadows, and Butterflies. He also co-wrote Just Three Girls and Marks.
