As a First Nation TV Producer, I am active as an executive member of the Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation Council. We are the descendants of ten communities located across settlement territory that makes up the Algonquins of Ontario (AOO). My Algonquin community is located off-reserve, north of Kingston, Ontario. Our Chief, Doreen Davis, lovingly known as Chef Doreen was elected in 1999, becoming her community's representative for the Land Claim Negotiations- a journey of reconciliation. On behalf of the Shabot community, I produced a short film in 2018, titled, Chief Doreen of the Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation.
