Jon Ong is a Singaporean composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles with over 12 years of experience in film, TV, and commercials. Most recently, Jon served as the composer of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival selection Border Hopper. A Sundance regular, he was also the composer for The Accidental Getaway Driver that won Best Director (Dramatic) at Sundance 2023.
He has created additional music for films such as Paddington; Love The Coopers; Whiskey Tango Foxtrot; Chain; 17 Blocks; as well as TV series such as Hulu's Dopesick; Amazon's The Wheel of Time; Netflix's Life on Our Planet; Peacock's Joe vs. Carole; and HBO's Pennyworth and His Dark Materials.
Beyond film and TV, Jon has also composed music for national commercials such as McDonald's The Hamburglar and Nickelodeon's digital series Chase Champion.
Originally from Singapore, Jon has risen through the ranks of the film scoring world in Los Angeles, and has worked with renowned composers such as Lorne Balfe, Nick Urata, and William Ross.
