Angelo was raised surrounded by a family of musicians and singers. Since he was a little boy, at age 7 to be exact, like any other amazing artist he began participating in school musicals and plays, this is how he first became acquainted with the public, began polishing his artistic gifts, and as a result discovered that his true passion for life was performing, music and singing.
When Angelo was only 11 years old a big break came knocking on his door, when he auditioned and was selected from amongst tens of thousands of children to become the youngest member of the world famous boy band ¨Menudo¨. He barely spoke Spanish when he auditioned for a spot in the band after seeing a television commercial in Puerto Rico during a family vacation. While in "Menudo" Angelo recorded three hit albums, toured the globe, and shared the stage with his then band mate superstar Ricky Martin, selling out major stadiums and arenas, in addition to selling more than six million albums worldwide.
In 1992 Angelo decided to part ways with the group and pursue his life long dream of being a solo act and signed a recording contract with World Wide Entertainment, consequently he recorded several songs including "Magic", "Yours So Completely", and a remake of singer Tiffany's hit song "Could've Been", but it was his single "Don't Keep Me Holding On" (written and produced by Lewis Martineé (of girl group"Exposé" fame) that became a success.
In 1993 (due to the success of his work with Lewis Martineé) World Wide Entertainment sold Garcia's recording contract to Warner Brothers Records for an undisclosed amount. After parting with his former label, Angelo released a Spanish language album for Warner Music Mexico simply titled "Angelo", this production was a bouncy Hip Hop/pop album in addition to the first time the Latin market got acquainted with the Hip Hop genre of music, since at that time Hip Hop had never been recorded in Spanish.
After completing his secondary education and some music for the European market under East/West records (a sister company of Warner Brothers), Angelo decided to put his musical career on hold, moved to Orlando, Fl and earned a communications degree from the University of Central Florida. Upon completion of his studies, he pursued another passion of his "fitness" and with his business partner Chris Palumbo helped in the launch of a women's gym franchise in Miami, Fl called Elements and in 2004 sold his shares for an undisclosed amount.
In 2005 Angelo returned to New York City and restarted his musical career in addition to writing songs, and also ventured into the world of modeling where he was part of dozens of fitness modeling photo shoots. During 2005 his former band mates from "Menudo" and he reunited and began a reunion tour under the name "Los Ultimos Heroes" all over Latin America. In order to preserve his artistic independence and avoid a clichéd reworking of the Menudo sound, Garcia instead decided to record a solo album, using music he had personally written or collaborated on in early 2005; and as a result In 2006, Garcia released a Spanish-language pop album titled Cool. One of the singles from Cool, a ballad entitled "Entrégare" (also known as "Si Es Así"), which Garcia co-wrote with songwriter Roy Tavare, and was featured in the 2006 motion picture "Yellow" staring actress Rosalyn Sanchez.
In 2009 Angelo Moved to San Francisco, CA, began taking Psychology classes at City college .In 2010 Angelo began flirting with the idea of recording an Electro dance album and began experimenting in the studio with different dance sounds and began approaching his songwriting in a different direction as a result he wrote 14 songs and recorded demos for "The Morning After, Fallin 4 U, and Bi Polar Games (Crazy Bitch).
In May 2010, García posed for a series of SEMI nude photographs for Paragon Men, a gay erotica website. In the interview which accompanied his photo shoot, Garcia openly discussed his homosexuality and his years of sexual self-exploration after leaving Menudo, even working briefly as a stripper and erotic dancer and performing at the now defunct Gaiety Theatre in New York City. He also refused to "out" his former band-mate Ricky Martin, who publicly disclosed his homosexuality a few weeks after García's interview.
Also in 2010 Garcia yearned to garner full creative and artistic control of his career, this time lapse served for huge emotional and professional growth for Angelo. Frustrated with the manor in which former managers and record labels had managed his career, and sick of superfluous BIG Label policies, Angelo decided to stop relying on Major record labels with archaic points of view, and out of "TOUCH" CEO's, and finally took that big leap of faith appropriating control over his career, which consequently enabled him to flex his musical muscle and dexterity in songwriting, and was finally adept to sing and record his very own original musical creations on his terms.
His ambitious nature and tenacity triggered a bold decision, and as a result on February 23rd of 2013 Angelo Garcia became the founder, President and CEO of his very own record label, and that is how Icon Music INC. was born.
In 2012 Angelo joined forces with William Luque who wrote his first Spanish hit "En Mis Sueños" which sold over 6 million copies world wide and began writing and recording a new English language Electro Dance Pop album in Madrid Spain called "Scandalous." Angelo unremittingly worked on the release of his next studio album entitled "Scandalous". Music critics who have sampled "Scandalous" label Angelo's achievement, "A Bold, Tenacious, and Confident body of music that combines DJ dance floor beats with staunch lyrics, steaming melodies and powerful hooks. Angelo's new music rivals the hit-making prowess of Rhianna and Gaga; nevertheless with the right marketing and push Angelo will impose his musical stamp on the industry, and be certain to appeal to the masses. The title track Scandalous speaks about a child growing up in the spotlight and how having to grow up prematurely wreaked havoc on his adult life. It is set to be released in 2013/2014.
His fourth solo Project entitled "Scandalous" alongside his writing and creative partner William Luque and a team of talented DJ's that give his new album the dance floor edge he craved, in addition to becoming a fitness consultant and writer for Chic magazine, where he has his very own fitness segment.
Currently Angelo is working on single's and keeping his fan base guessing of his next album drop. In the meantime they enjoy his singles and his youtube cover's.
