WildAid, the global conservation organization leading the fight to end the illegal wildlife trade, held its annual fundraising gala, “A Night in Africa,” on Saturday, November 9 at the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel.

The event raised nearly $2M to build support for African conservation efforts and to end the illegal wildlife trade.
Look to the Stars was honored to attend the event where supporters were submerged into a ‘Night in Africa’.
Upon entry, guests were met with stilt-walking animals from “The Cirque.” African dancers and singers delighted the crowd as guests perused auction items while enjoying hors-d’oeuvres and cocktails & champagne from a skirt-bar.
There was plenty to see at the WildAid "A Night in Africa" Gala.

Gravitas Ventures has picked up the worldwide rights to “Public Figure,” director Brian Corso’s documentary feature which looks at influencers including Rose McGowan to examine both the power wielded by internet personalities and the price they pay.
The film will premiere at the Manchester International Film Festival on March 9 and domestically in New York City at the Socially Relevant Film Festival on March 17.
Besides looking at the victories and struggles of McGowan, one of the most prominent women to speak out against Harvey Weinstein, it also features South Africa’s biggest social media influencer, Bonang Matheba; Canadian fitness expert Gregory O’Gallagher; Australian lifestyle blogger Emma Rose; adventure travel photographer Emmett Sparling; food and travel bloggers Greg and Rebecca Remmy; Chicago-born Instagram comedian Donterio Hundon and New York memer Sebastian Tribbie.

International advocacy organisation Global Citizen today announced that Beyonce, Jay-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D’banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams and Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and Wizkid will headline the first Global Citizen Festival to be held in Africa, a free-ticketed event on Sunday, 2 December 2018 at the Fnb Stadium, Johannesburg.
