Set shortly after the Civil War, Ghosts of the Ozarks is an expanded version of the 2016 short of the same name, and with some of the same cast. James ‘Doc’ McCune (Thomas Hobson; I’ll Be Watching) has been invited by his uncle Matthew to come to the town of Norfolk, Arkansas. He says it’s a wonderful place to live, a veritable Utopia, and they need a doctor.
But on his way there something spooks his horse and it runs off. Then he’s attacked in the woods by Micah (Scott Dean; 12 Hour Shift) who is fixing to kill him before something unseen pulls him into a strange red mist. He soon finds out...

WWE sacrificed 28 wrestlers and backstage talent on Wednesday all in the name of WWE’s stock.
That sounds crude, but it’s true.
WWE announced today that 28 individuals were fired. More full-time employees would be furloughed or laid off and construction on the company’s new headquarters has halted as well. The savings for WWE is about $4 million per month, they bragged in a press release.
That $4 million per month sounds like a lot … until you realize WWE has $90 million in cash on hand and has upwards of $500 million available if they maximized everything and extended all of their credit lines.
The cuts were, of course, blamed on coronavirus.
But make no mistake about it, these cuts were made for one reason and one reason only … to protect WWE’s stock price. The moves were made to protect profit margin. It affected a lot of lower-card talents, some of whom...

The Wyatt Family is in transition right now. Bray Wyatt has been more or less nonexistent on WWE programming since the lackluster end of the Chris Jericho feud. This is odd considering he was one of the most dominant heels in the company a few months ago. In just over a year, he has feuded with Kane, Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Chris Jericho. A great list thus far, but his momentum has no doubt stalled. It is unclear if this is due to a lack of creative plans, or a master plan to change The Wyatt Family into another identity.
As of this Monday Night on Raw, Luke Harper has been “set free“. The rumors are he is in line for a good solo push. Harper has rather quietly become a very good midcard wrestler and has been working with all the same talent as Bray Wyatt himself.

There were two vignettes on Monday’s Raw featuring the Wyatt Family. The focus of the video was about how Bray Wyatt, the leader of the group, saved Luke Harper from the terrible life he was living and gave him a purpose in life. It put over the idea that Wyatt is a manipulator that has people following him. We know about Harper and his partner Erick Rowan since the group has been featured on WWE television for over a year now. They were also together in Nxt prior to their main roster debut last summer.
According to a report from PWInsider, the backstage news from Raw is that the group will be going their separate ways. The report notes that it’s not a sure thing that anybody in the group will receive a push right away, but the Raw promos suggest that Luke Harper will be...

Last night’s Monday Night Raw featured the continuation of some recent storylines — most notably the ongoing feud between John Cena, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins. During the broadcast, a video package was aired that featured Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper of the Wyatt Family — Erick Rowan was conspicuous by his absence. The short video was seemingly intended to put over Harper and plant the seed of a potential singles run.
As usual, the enigmatic Bray Wyatt did most of the talking during this segment. However, Luke Harper actually spoke toward the end of the package. The video further featured the typically static editing of the Wyatt Family’s earlier promos, as well as the familiar swamp-like setting. The so-called Eater of Worlds, Bray Wyatt, mentioned how he “found” Harper and that he had “nothing but broken memories.” After pondering, “what do you give a man that has nothing,...

As one of WWE’s B pay per views, you can’t really set expectations too high. Fortunately, Battleground delivered a mostly okay PPV, with some pretty awesome high points and equally disappointing lost points and bad booking.
We start the main card with the Usos successfully defending their titles in a pretty good 2 out of 3 falls match against Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of the Wyatt Family. First fall went to the Wyatt Family who spent most of it applying chin locks and stomping the legal Uso, playing the isolation game before Harper delivered a big boot to Jimmy for the pin. Second fall was much of the same, Rowan and Harper using their size and strength against their opponents until a beaten Jimmy tags in Jey who gets the roll up on Harper for fall number 2. With the momentum in their favour, Jey and Jimmy start kicking it up a notch,...

Leading the final charge towards SummerSlam, Battleground has become the PPV where WWE lines up all of its ducks going into the third of its big four presentations (after Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania and prior to Survivor Series).
This year they managed to not only put together a great card, but in terms of match quality they damn near knocked it out of the park.
As regular readers know, I love me a bit of a Battle Royale (the Rumble being my favourite flavour) so the standing room only clash for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship belt had me at hello. Man of the match, as per usual, was Kofi Kingston who performed his now requisite elimination save with aplomb, but the end of the bout caught me completely by surprise proving that Creative are still capable of pulling a fast one when they need to.

One of the more interesting of WWE’s annual b-shows, Money in the Bank is the night of the year where a younger talent has the chance to grab the contract that sets them up for a built-in storyline and eventual chance at winning the WWE World Title. Here, there are two ladder matches, one for the contract and one for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Daniel Bryan, who was forced to relinquish his WWE World Title due to a neck injury, appeared on the pre-show/kick-off show and told the world that he was still suffering effects of his injury and may still require further surgery, Bryan then promised he would be back as soon as he could and win back the WWE World Title. Time will tell, but I have a sinking feeling that Bryan’s time as “the guy” are behind us.

Tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw will be in the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. WWE is hyping tonight’s show as the season premiere, despite Raw running uninterrupted week-to-week. A couple of huge announcements have already taken place in regard to tonight’s program.
It was announced last week that Jerry Springer — the ex-mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio and former television talk show host — will be making an appearance tonight in Baltimore. Springer is set to host an intervention between Nikki and Brie, the Bella Twins. Will Springer be able to maintain order between the two warring siblings, or will Nikki and Brie’s quarreling turn physical?
Also announced for tonight are two big matchups. Roman Reigns and Randy Orton are set to square off, as Reigns continues to do battle with the Authority on a weekly basis. Furthermore, fans will witness a main event steel cage...

In May of 2013, WWE started to air vignettes of a bizarre trio that had been popularized through Nxt. These three misfits, led by their leader Bray Wyatt, immediately made an impression on WWE television with depictions of rocking chairs and sheep masks, promising to revolutionize the company to more of a darker edge. Their promos ran for around two months, when the first target was finally revealed – Kane. This feud, albeit short, culminated at the SummerSlam pay-per-view, in which Bray won a “Ring of Fire” match against the big red monster.
This entrance by the Wyatt family was not a great success, but at least we finally had the opportunity to experience in-ring competition after months of vignettes. So, the trio sought after two more top names to accomplish Bray’s mission – Daniel Bryan and Cm Punk. This feud led to a tag team match at Survivor Series,...

The month of August is here and that means we’re two thirds of the way through 2014. For those of us that are part of the WWE Universe, that means we’re past SummerSlam and headed towards Night of Champions on September 21.
If you watched WWE TV this past week then you know that the booking team was pretty lazy. Raw wasn’t that great. It featured a main event of John Cena taking on Bray Wyatt, which turned into a six man tag with Mark Henry & Big Show joining Cena against Wyatt, Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. On Raw, Roman Reigns took on Wyatt. That match didn’t have a finish. It also turned into a six man tag with the same guys expect Reigns replaced Cena. It’s like the creative tea fell asleep this week.
There weren’t a lot of newsworthy items this week except...

This week’s Smackdown was taped in Ontario, California, with several implications for September’s Night Of Champions. Due for broadcast this Friday, the main event will be The Wyatt Family vs Roman Reigns, Big Show and Mark Henry. Results and spoilers follow.
The show opened with Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt. Reigns ended up winning by disqualification when Erick Rowan and Luke Harper attacked. This resulted in a Wyatt Family beatdown of the former Shield leader, until Big Show and Mark Henry ran in to make the save. The six man main event was then set for later in the show.
Seth Rollins defeated Rob Van Dam. The finish saw Rollins hit the curb stomp for the pin. Afterwards, Van Dam exited the ring quickly, and he’s expected to leave WWE imminently. His latest run has been bland and there’s doubt if he or WWE...

Stone Cold Steve Austin, along with quite a few other legends and current stars hosted a panel in celebration of SummerSlam to reveal the roster for WWE 2K15. There wasn’t any gameplay on display, but rather stills of each character’s selection screen portrait, which was a bit disappointing but hey, finally getting a glimpse at who is making the cut is still an event.
Unfortunately, the roster that was shown is noticeably thin. For comparison, there are only a little over 50 wrestlers confirmed in WWE 2K15, while 82 different stars made it into WWE 2K14. Naturally, this has a lot of gamers and wrestling fans upset, and subsequently glossing over some miscommunication between 2K Games, WWE, and even the stars running the panel.

This week’s Raw really wasn’t a great episode of WWE’s Monday night show, but they were able to finalize the SummerSlam lineup. For the past few weeks we have been able to confirm a few matches, but after Raw we know eight matches that are definitely happening at the summer spectacular on August 17 in Los Angeles. They’re listed on WWE.com now, so let’s have a quick look at all of them.
John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship - The main event of the show was furthered on Raw by airing a video package with comments from Lesnar and Cena. Neither guy was at Raw, so it was smart of WWE to air the video package. They actually aired it twice just so they could make sure people saw it.
Both men are expected to be at Raw next week.

This week’s WWE Smackdown was filmed on Tuesday night from Corpus Christi, Texas. The main event pitted Chris Jericho against Erick Rowan, with a co-main event of Dolph Ziggler vs Alberto Del Rio. A key development coming out of the show was Randy Orton challenging Roman Reigns to a SummerSlam match. With just three weeks to go until the August pay per view, WWE’s key feuds are heating up. The episode will be broadcast this Friday night, the results are as follows:
- Jack Swagger defeated Cesaro with the Patriot Lock. This resulted in Lana and Rusev coming out and challenging Swagger to a match at SummerSlam. Zeb Colter accepted on Swagger’s behalf.
It’s hard times yet again for Cesaro, with his losing streak continuing. For Swagger things look much rosier, his feud with Rusev is one of WWE’s hottest programs for SummerSlam.

The highly anticipated WWE 2K15 roster has allegedly leaked online. The big news is that Cm Punk is in the game, alongside a range of Nxt stars. There’s 92 wrestlers in total, including Mick Foley who had been in doubt after not signing a WWE legends deal earlier this year.
The leak surfaced on GameFAQs, where it was claimed that the list came from the August edition of Game Informer Magazine. The post has since been removed.
The official roster reveal will be on August 16th in Los Angeles. 2K will be working in partnership with WWE’s SummerSlam event which takes place on the same weekend. That timing ensures maximum publicity for the video game’s content.
Is there any validity to this apparent leak ahead of time? The list certainly looks plausible. Punk’s contract may have expired, but he would have been under a deal when production of the game started.

Though they were few actual extreme rule stipulations at the 2014 Extreme Rules Pay Per View, there were certainly extremes when it came to the quality of the matches. Stuck right at the beginning of the no man’s land between Wrestlemania and SummerSlam that inevitably finds the WWE effectively presenting the PPV as the hangover after the big Mania blowout, Extreme Rules was an evening of highs and lows.
Starting with those lows, John Cena facing off against Bray Wyatt in a steel cage might have seemed the next logical step after their Mania lock up, and to be fair to WWE Creative they’d tried to pull out all the stops to build it up in the weeks prior to Extreme Rules, but the reality of the match was that it was dull. After trying numerous times to escape the cage, only to be thwarted by continuous interference by...

When Chris Jericho beat Bray Wyatt clean at Battleground on Sunday with the Codebreaker it surprised a lot of people. The announcers were even surprised by it probably because we’ve become so used to Jericho losing matches on a consistent basis. According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com, the plan was originally for Wyatt to win and then it was changed on Sunday to have Jericho get the win. The change was apparently made by Vince McMahon, which is no surprise because he has been the man in charge of WWE for well over 30 years now.
While no reason has been given for the change at this point, it’s probably a case of McMahon wanting to change a finish that was too predictable. It’s happened before. Most of the time WWE sticks to their plans and really doesn’t deviate from them, but they...

Following Monday’s edition of Raw there were only three matches that were official for WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view on July 20 in Tampa. After last night’s Smackdown and Main Event tapings we can add four matches to the official lineup to make it seven.
Here’s what we knew officially after Raw.
WWE World Heavyweight Title Fatal 4-Way: John Cena vs. Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. Kane. That’s the clear main event. Nothing else on this card is really close to it in terms of its stature.
WWE Intercontinental Title Battle Royal: Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Rob Van Dam, Big E, Alberto Del Rio, Fandango, Sheamus, Cesaro, Damien Sandow, The Great Khali, Ryback, Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas. There are 13 names. The key addition is Sheamus, who is already the Us Champion. He could add the Ic Title to the Us Title he already has.

It’s a Fatal Four Way match, which means the man that gets the first pinfall or submission will be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
While the Fatal Four Way match hasn’t been done as a PPV main event in a while, it’s the second PPV in a row with more than two people in a major title match. When you keep doing it all the time the novelty wears off a bit.

WWE Money In The Bank was an entertaining show, a night in which WWE made various booking moves to set the scene for their summer storylines. The biggest development was John Cena winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title, his 15th major championship to date. The commentary instantly referred to him as the greatest WWE superstar ever, a line likely fed from Vince McMahon backstage, a line Vince probably believes. You’d surely expect the 37 year old Cena to have at least another couple of title reigns in the next two years, which would beat Nature Boy Ric Flair’s vaunted 16 world title reign record.
The reason for the Cena win was to facilitate a summer feud between himself and Brock Lesnar. The Beast made clear at the start of the year that he was going after the WWE world title, he is booked for SummerSlam and WWE have...

The main event is the Ladder Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is set with what we thought was seven men vying for the vacated title except there is one more. The men in that match are Sheamus, Roman Reigns, John Cena, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio. Kane destroyed a bunch of the guy at the end of Raw, so he’s the 8th man in the match as named by Triple H.
Cena’s considered the favorite, but when isn’t Cena the favorite? He usually is. Reigns stood tall at the end of Raw after a Spear on Kane, so they are seriously hinting that it might be him.

WWE has already made three matches official for Money in the Bank on June 29th. There will be two ladder matches. One for the Money in the Bank briefcase and the other for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In addition to these two matches, the tag team titles will be on the line when the Usos defend the belts against Luke Harper and Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family.
However, there has to be more than three matches on June 29th. There just has to be.
While Seth Rollins is the only participant announced for the Money in the Bank ladder match, we don’t know who the others will be. Therefore, as I go through the matches I think WWE will book for the event, keep in mind that some of these superstars may be entered into that second ladder match.
With that said, here are five matches that...

This week’s Raw provided answers regarding some of the key matches at WWE’s Money in the Bank PPV on June 29th. The WWE World Heavyweight Championship is up for grabs in a ladder match with seven participants. Headed into Raw we knew that Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Cesaro and Bray Wyatt were in the match. There were two spots left.
There was a battle royal for entry into the ladder match. Roman Reigns wasn’t originally part of it, but he convinced Vickie Guerrero to give him a spot in the match. He got in the match (the only with a televised entrance) and of course he won it, last eliminating Rusev.
John Cena wasn’t allowed to participate in the battle royal because Triple H put him in a Stretcher Match against Kane. Cena ended up winning the match clean thanks to an Attitude Adjustment onto a stretcher,...

The tag team scene is heating up in WWE as current champs The Usos are dealing with the intimidating Wyatt Family duo of Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. This past week on Raw, Harper & Rowan beat The Usos in a non-title match, which is a familiar finish that WWE does to set up title matches. It’s a finish that frustrates a lot of fans because champions lose non-title matches so often, but we all know why they do it.
A report from PWInsider notes that while Harper & Rowan will likely get a tag title match possibly at Money in the Bank on June 29, they might not end up as the tag team champions. Part of that reason may be because WWE really wants to establish The Usos as their long term babyface champions. They’re very popular with the fans, so if they have a really long title...

This week’s edition of Raw was the last episode before WWE Payback this coming Sunday in Chicago. The full card for Payback looks to be set now after the announcements of several matches.
In addition to the matches, we will see a segment where Daniel Bryan has to decide if he’ll give up the WWE World Heavyweight Championship or if Stephanie will fire his wife Brie Bella. It’s a good way for them to involve Bryan on the show while he’s still dealing with an injury. There’s still no clear indication of what WWE is going to do regarding Bryan’s title(s), but they are continuing the storyline at Payback.
Here are the matches that are announced:

This week’s Raw provided us with more answers when it comes to the matches that we’re going to see at Payback on June 1st in Chicago.
We already knew that Evolution would face off against The Shield, but it was announced on Raw that will be a No Holds Barred Elimination Match. That likely means that there will be no tags in the match. Weapons will be allowed. It will only end when all three members of one side are eliminated. There are a lot of ways that the match could go and it’s that unpredictability that will make it an awesome match.
The storyline between John Cena and Bray Wyatt was futhered on Raw as they continue to build up their third straight PPV match at Payback. The stipulation for their match will be a Last Man Standing Match.

WrestleMania 30 was meant to be Daniel Bryan’s big night, he was meant to be the story of the show. But as it turned out, WrestleMania 30 won’t be first and foremost remembered for Bryan’s big achievements. Despite the Yes movement leader beating Triple H and going on to win the WWE Title, he was the secondary consideration on all wrestling fans minds this Monday morning.
That’s because the unthinkable happened in New Orleans last night, The Undertaker lost at WrestleMania. After 21 years of victories, Undertaker was pinned cleanly by Brock Lesnar. The biggest pro-wrestling story of this decade had occurred. That will now be the lasting legacy of Mania 30, the first thing we think of when we reminisce about the event. It was one of those wrestling moments which just transcends the normal parameters of our experience watching WWE. Even now the surreal notion of...

If there's anything I have as much of a passion for as horror movies it's professional wrestling, which has been a lifelong obsession of mine since well before the days my parents allowed me to make friends with guys like Jason and Freddy. Not surprisingly, it's been the horror-inspired characters that I've always found myself gravitating towards - guys who looked and acted like they belonged inside the confines of horror films, more than they did the squared circle.
With WWE's Wrestlemania 30 on the horizon, taking place this Sunday night, now's the perfect time to shine the spotlight on some of the scariest grapplers in the history of the business, which is precisely what I'm here to do today. So here are 10 professional wrestlers who have channeled the spirit of horror cinema over the years, and have brought together my two biggest passions in life!

Bray Wyatt has had the WWE Universe in his grasp since the first Wyatt Family promo video in the summer of 2013. Using the combination of creepy imagery and intensely cryptic messages, Wyatt quickly captured the fans’s imagination and demanded their attention.
In the current PG-era of WWE TV, Bray Wyatt dares to stand out with dark undertones and disturbing intentions. His two followers Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are part men and part monster. With a backwoods, brain-washing, and cult-leader vibe, Bray is certainly not aimed at children. His promos are chilling, macabre, and not always easy to follow. He carries himself as one who always knows more than his opponent and will reveal the truth in time and in his own way. When he appears on the screen, blows out his lantern, and the Wyatt Family music hits…the fans are locked in.

With just two more weeks of WWE television to go before WrestleMania, it appears as though we may finally know the full lineup.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported about the eight matches that WWE has planned for the four hour show taking place on April 6th in New Orleans. Here’s a listing of the matches that have been made official as well as those that will be official in the coming weeks.
Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan – This will likely take place in the first hour because the winner of this match will wrestle in the main event match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton and Batista. This stipulation was added on Monday’s Raw when Triple H said he’s going for it all after he beats Daniel Bryan. It would be a shock if Bryan didn’t win this match.

I’ve heard it said that somewhere between science and superstition, there is another world. A world of darkness.
It’s a world that haunted my dreams as a child, from the first time I saw Kevin Sullivan and his Army of Darkness spreading their eerily twisted messages across the Nwa.
“Our cause is not for evil,” said Sullivan during an interview for Championship Wrestling from Florida in 1982. “Because all we’re looking for is refuge from this cold, cruel world.”
Ring a bell?
Sullivan’s dark mystique, his messianic charisma, his penchant for dark riddles — they all seem to have been resurrected in the form of Bray Wyatt.
Take, for instance, these words recently delivered by the leader of the Wyatt Family to nemesis John Cena:
“This is a terrible world,” Wyatt drawled. “A cold, cold dark and lonely place. You stand for these illusions. But...

The WrestleMania 30 card is coming together slowly as WWE tries to put together the best show possible for the big event taking place on Sunday April 6th in New Orleans.

This past Monday on Raw, WWE furthered the ongoing feud between The Wyatt Family and WWE’s top guy John Cena. After the Wyatt Family cost Cena the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble as well as Elimination Chamber, Cena called them out for a fight.
During the fight, it appeared as though Cena suffered a leg injury. During the initial part of the brawl, Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family lifted up Cena’s leg and then shoved him back down to the mat hard. From that point on, Cena grabbed his left leg as if it was legitimately hurt.
The Wyatt Family’s attack slowed down from there as it appeared that Cena was hurting and although they continued the assault, it didn’t appear to be as vicious as one might expect.
Cena left the arena on a stretcher with the commentary team wondering if...

Survivor Series began at the end of the 1980’s and was a themed show that saw the roster of WWE team together in elimination style tag team battles that saw the biggest stars of the day team together to form super-teams. As time went by the Survivor Series stopped being a show filled with elimination tag matches and today it features a few of them while also promoting regular matches for championships and such. 2013’s show only featured two traditional Survivor Series contests.

The original concept of Survivor Series when it was created way back in 1987 was to showcase the tag team element of the then WWF. Since then there have been many memorable moments created at Survivor Series, including the first ever casket match in 1992 (called the coffin match originally), the infamous Montreal Screwjob of 1997 and the introduction of the Elimination Chamber in 2002, which has become a pay per view in its own right these days.
With tag teams having become more popular in WWE again in recent months, particularly teams like the Usos, Los Matadores, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Goldust and the return of the New Age Outlaws, you’d have thought that WWE would be in a great position to pair some of them up and create the previously awesome multi-man matches that Survivor Series is known for. The annual Royal Rumble match, held in January, is one of the highlights of the wrestling year, as thirty men from an assortment of different spots on the card enter the ring and participate in an hour of relentless and unpredictable action until just one man is left standing, receiving a title match at Wrestlemania for his troubles.
The brainchild of Pat Patterson, the match was first held in 1988, where just twenty men competed and ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan emerged victorious. Twenty six years later, the match dawns upon us once again.
Though the current roster has an abundance of talent, this has not always been the case, and in years gone by the WWE has had to scrape the very bottom of the barrel on occasion (who can forget the appearances of Squat Team Member #1 and Squat Team Member #2 in 1996!) to fill the Rumble match with thirty participants. As a result of this,...

Previously on: With the "Royal Rumble" closing in, Daniel Bryan shed his affiliation with the Wyatt Family and got what might be the biggest audience reaction of his career. Bryan has become the most popular guy in WWE.
The big news: Batista is back on "WWE Raw" and he knows exactly what he wants. The show opened with Randy Orton whining to The Authority in the ring, only for Batista to make his entrance. He tells Orton his goal is simple: Win the "Royal Rumble" and headline "Wrestlemania," becoming WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the process. He doesn't care who is across the ring from him.
Batista also follows up on the feud he didn't know he was in with Alberto Del Rio. After Del Rio's match with Rey Mysterio, Batista made his way to the ring once again and laid Alberto out with a spinebuster and a Batistabomb. That takes care of that.

Previously on: The Christmas edition of "WWE Raw" was mostly filler, though some of it was pretty entertaining. Who doesn't want to see Santa Claus fight Santa Claus?
The big news: The final "WWE Raw" of 2013 was notable for who was missing more than anything else. Nowhere to be seen were John Cena, Randy Orton, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, The Real Americans and many more. WWE ran a non-televised show in Canada Monday night as well, meaning the roster was split down the middle.
Of course, those absences gave the talent that was on the show a bit more of the spotlight. Cm Punk opened the show with a promo against The Shield that furthered the impending end of the group. He also wrestled Seth Rollins, who decided he was the strong link in the faction. He still ended up losing, though the distraction from his buddies may be at fault.

WWE is ending the pay per view year with a bang, unifying the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship, assuring only one man will stand tall as the face of the company. The main event will feature John Cena and Randy Orton battling it out in a tables, ladders and chairs match with both titles hung high above the ring.
Whether either man should continue as "the face of WWE" is a matter of opinion, but this will be the big match to end 2013. It's also the exact same thing that happened at "Vengeance," the final pay per view in 2001, with Chris Jericho emerging as the undisputed champion. Don't tell WWE though, they forgot.

Plus Daniel Bryan was kidnapped by the Wyatt Family, Cm Punk was attacked by The Shield and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley sold T-shirts.
Big news: Cm Punk opens the show to spin conspiracy theories about why The Shield mowed him down last week. He says it's Triple H gunning for him due to his mocking him non-stop. Find out how Randy managed to take down The Big Show, then get all the results from one of the WWE’s biggest nights!
WWE Champion Randy Orton had the cards stacked against him when he faced The Big Show on Nov. 24 during the title match of WWE Survivor Series. As the organization’s official site points out, Randy has relied heavily on the interference of outside forces to retain his title, but Triple H made it clear that all Survivor Series face-offs would be strictly one-on-one. So how did the Viper manage to slither his way to victory?
Despite Triple H being adamant about no one interfering in the match, that’s exactly how Randy ended up winning!
