- In 2017, Andy helped found the Historical Basketball League, aiming to bring professionalism to college sports through a summer league consisting of elite HBCUs (historically black colleges and universities). His role is strategic/advisory; he intends to remain a full-time economist. The league is premised on the idea that excellent basketball played at excellent universities will be popular, without any need to enforce amateurism. Andy discusses these themes in the documentaries in which he has appeared.
