- Marc Garanger was born on May 2, 1935 in Ézy-sur-Eure, Eure, France. He was a director and writer, known for Taïga, terre des chamans (1997), Jean-Michel Jarre: The China Concerts (1982) and Des mots de minuit (1999). He died on April 28, 2020 in France.
- As a soldier in the Algerian war, he took 10,000 photographs that were later published. He visited later almost all of the USSR and eastern block countries as a reporter-photographer. He won many prizes and was important in photographers' unions.
