Crew
Directed by Rajesh A. Krishnan
Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu
What happens when a sumptuous airline decides to pull the red carpet and replaces it with a dread carpet?
Total pandemonium! Director Rajesh Krishnan leans in to ferret out some humour in the Kingfisher (here rechristened Kohinoor) crisis. The ‘humour’ includes an airline official Rajvanshi (Rammakant Daayama) dying on flight with tiers of gold tied to his chest. Our trio of airhostess heroines are stricken with congenital greed.
Ha ha to that.
From that takeoff point, pun intended, Crew gets into a zany mood, unwilling to let go off even a single chance to poke fun at those who think material girls are wanton.
They are , they are! But Tabu, Kareena and Kriti make materialism look so mouthwateringly desirable, it would be a shame to wag our fingers at them for going off the righteous path...

Antony Movie Review Rating:
Star Cast: Joju George, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Nyla Usha
Director: Joshiy
Antony Movie Review Out ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
What’s Good: Joju George’s robust performance as Antony stands out, breathing life into a character that remains captivating despite its shades of grey. The on-screen chemistry between Joju and Chemban Vinod Jose injects warmth into the film. The portrayal of strong female characters, particularly Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Mma-trained Ann Maria, adds depth to the narrative.
What’s Bad: Lackluster writing hampers the film’s potential, with underdeveloped characters and contrived situations. The antagonists, despite elaborate introductions, the antagonists fade away towards the end, leaving the climax feeling rushed. The film struggles to evoke necessary emotions in crucial scenes due to shallow writing.
Loo Break: Around the 1-hour and 10-minute mark, a brief interlude occurs with a Christian song lasting only around 2 minutes. This...

Malayalam superstar Joju George’s film ‘Antony’ has released its official teaser. An action-thriller-drama film, the movie sees the actor in a new avatar as a hardened, brutal, and not-to-be-messed-with police officer.
The teaser is somewhat vague on the details regarding the storyline, though it seems that some murders have been taking place by an underground network of gangsters, who are without any mercy.
The police who are investigating the murders then take the name of Antony, who is played by Joju George. An old bearded man, Antony appears to be a kind of brutal killer as he walks on to the water in slow-mo with a cleaver in hand.
Investigating what is going on, Antony ends up fighting a bunch of thugs whom he ends up making minced meat out of using a cricket bat, as he bashes their heads on the ground. Joju George appears to be a very silent,...

ReviewTalented actors such as Sabumon, Johny Antony, Karamana Sudheer and others are wasted in clichéd ideas of humour.CrisThe main thought behind the making of Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan appears to have been to make a film with a lot of “comedy” in it. Nearly every scene is written with this idea, you can see. The problem with such ideas is that if the comedy fails, the entire film comes crumbling down faster than a house of cards. That’s what happens with Upacharapoorvam. Lead actor Saiju Kurup, and others including Sabumon, Johny Antony, Shabareesh Varma, Shailaja Ambu and a number of newcomers do try their best, but it really isn’t in their hands to save the film. The whole premise is a wedding that is about to happen in the house of ‘Gunda Jayan’ (Saiju Kurup), a man who had once been notorious as a goon and has, since then,...

Khaandani Shafkhana
Starring Sonakshi Sinha,Varun Sharma,Priyanshu Jora, Kulbhushan Kharbanda,Annu Kapoor, Nadira Babbar
Directed by Shilpi Dasgputa
There are some wonderful things happening in this offbeat entertainer. For one, the tightlipped stuffed shirts are being made to talk about, ahem, sex.
When did Bollywood lose its inhibitions? Probably when we were watching B R Ishara’s Chetna or Rajinder Singh Bedi’s Dastak, revolutionary films way back in the 1970s where women were shown to have a sexual appetite that needed fuelling in a country that won’t even acknowledge male sexuality and its pitfalls unless done in whispers.
Here in this brave and uninhibited film, an anonymous woman comes to a courtroom and speaks of a husband whose ‘balloon’ had no ‘gas’ until he visited the notorious Baby Bedi’s sex clinic.
Baby, by the way, is played with feisty energy by Sonakshi Sinha. Whether riding her rickety scootie to work,...

Fry Day
Starring Govinda, Varun Sharma, Prabhleen Sandhu, Digangana Survanshi
Directed by Abhishek Dogra
At last, Govinda has a blast. And so, I must confess, do we. Fry Day is a surprisingly palatable marital comedy with some really funny throwaway lines, and of course the actors’ comic timing which goes a long way in supplanting a certain sparkle to even some of the potentially stiff scenes.
Stagey and saucy, this is a play-on-film with most of the events unfolding on one location. And yet director Abhishek Dogra (remember his wacked-out Sonam Kapoor-helmed comedy Dolly Ki Doli?) keeps the pace on a leash, never letting the overwrought characters go out of the playing field even when the ball is not in their court.
This comedy on infidelity, last seen conveying a smiliar swerve into the vista of verve in B R Chopra’s Pati Patni Aur Woh, stars Govinda as Gagan,...
