Deadpool director Tim Miller recently dropped out of the sequel because of some creative differences with Ryan Reynolds and the studio. If the rumored reasons behind the departure are true, it's probably for the best.
Miller has already jumped on board a film project called Influx, which is an adaptation of the David Suarez novel, and it's expected to end up being a film trilogy. According to Variety, he's also joined the production team of Sony Pictures live-action CG hybrid adaptation of the classic Sega video game Sonic the Hedgehog.
He will be a producer on the film and help out Blur Studio’s Jeff Fowler, who is attached to direct and oversee the development of the project. They will also work with Neal H. Moritz, who is the producer of the Fast and Furious franchise. Miller had this to say in a statement:
“Jeff is an incredible director with strong story instincts.

Trouble has hit the production of the Deadpool sequel as Tim Miller, director of the first Deadpool has left the project. Hollywood reporter has cited creative differences between Miller and Ryan Reynolds is the reason he's left the film.
Fox says the parting of ways is amicable and is already jumping hand-in-hand with Miller into another project, Influx, the adaptation of a sci-fi themed novel by David Suarez.

Deadline is reporting that due to creative differences between himself and star Ryan Reynolds, director Tim Miller has departed Deadpool 2. Apparently, the split was amicable and he’s still on good terms with both the studio and Reynolds, but he’ll no longer helm the sequel for them.
Though Miller had never officially signed a deal to direct Deadpool 2, almost everyone expected him to return given how successful the original film was. Not to mention that he’d been developing a script for the sequel along with Reynolds. As such, this comes as a bit of a surprise. Miller was very instrumental in bringing the Merc with a Mouth to the big screen and was a large part of why Deadpool turned out to be such a fantastic movie in the first place.

The “Deadpool” sequel has just lost director Tim Miller, who dropped out of helming the project due to creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds. Deadline reported the news early Saturday, stating that Miller had not formally signed on to direct the sequel, but was in the process of developing the script and was expected to return.
Sources told the site that the split was amicable and he will work on another big Fox project: “Influx,” an adaptation of David Suarez’s novel and is expected to launch a film trilogy.
The “Deadpool” sequel isn’t scheduled to be released until January 12, 2018, but now the studio will have to find a new director to take the reigns. Fox co-chairman Stacy Snider confirmed during CinemaCon in April that screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick would return to pen the script. No other actors, except Reynolds, have been confirmed to reprise their roles.

It appears as though the director's chair for the highly anticipated Deadpool sequel is up for grabs. According to Deadline, director Tim Miller has exited Deadpool 2, which has already been slated for a January 2018 release. They've learned that Miller himself chose to leave the project due to "mutual creative differences" with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds. Also, while Miller was developing the script for the film, he never officially signed on to direct Deadpool 2, so while it was assumed he'd be back in the director's chair, there was never any guarantee. The trade goes on to add that Miller's departure was amicable, and that Fox still has their eyes set on Miller potentially directing a future project, namely an adaptation of the David Suarez novel Influx. Deadpool made quite the impression on fans worldwide and ultimately became a box office behemoth, breaking several records, something that not many expected due to its R-Rating,...

Whoa, wait... what!? That's right folks, Tim Miller, the director of the incredibly awesome Deadpool movie that fans fell in love with has dropped out of the sequel. This news was completely unexpected and I've gotta say... incredibly sad to hear. These two guys made such a great badass first movie together.
The news comes from Deadline who says that his departure was due to creative differences with Ryan Reynolds. It seemed like these two talented individuals made a great team who both wanted to make the best possible Deadpool films for the fans. I guess this means that it's going to be Reynolds' vision of the film or nothing.
The report says that Miller's time on the project "ended amicably and the studio is very high on Miller and the expectation is the filmmaker will jump right into another big Fox project: Influx, an adaptation of the David Suarez...
