Pauline Panagiotou-Schneider is of Greek-American decent. Born in
Nigeria she has lived on three continents and at an early age was
introduced to Anthropology and Archaeology while living in Greece. She
had access to the the National Geographic films produced by David
Wolper while attending American Community Schools of Athens Greece,
where Wolper's two sons were students of Ms. Schneider's mother. Her
early affinity for the Humanities and filmmaking influenced her life in
many ways, both artistically, educationally and spiritually. She gained
multiple degrees in Radio and TV Production, Anthropology and
Sociology, and a Masters in Education with a focus on Social Studies
and Special Education.
For several decades she has pursued a path of environmental activism and education, and three years ago became an active participant in the Transition Town movement in her New York county. Last year some of her Transition Town colleagues invited Dr. Guy R. McPherson to speak in a neighboring town library and what she learned changed her life. It was the impetus to pursue her lifelong dream of making a film and educating her fellow humans. With limited funds and equipment, she spent a year all by herself following Dr. McPherson and filming his lectures and travels to share his dire news around the world.
Pauline hopes that her documentary will inspire others to get off the rat-race, treadmill, notice where they are and those beside them, and begin to do what they love. While there is still time.
