- Music Department
Peter "Tok Sik" Cano is a DJ, producer, recording artist, and also a businessman. He was born on November, 16th 1994 in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also the Co-founder of independent record label, PC Music Entertainment (P.C.M.E.). He first got introduced into music production and recording through his father, who shared his passion of making beats to him by teaching him how to use the Ensoniq Asr-10 sampling keyboard at the age of 10. It wasn't long after he was set up on an old computer with an outdated version of fruity loops and with no formal instructions that he took off, picking up most things as he went along. He grew up recording and making beats for every occasion simply out of passion of the art from school projects to family gatherings where he would make music with family members who have no previous experience in music. Even at that level, the music production was far beyond his age. As he grew up and his production skills increased, he got new equipment and upgraded his software to start selling beats to artists in high school and collaborating on tracks with older kids who saw him as both an aspiring producer and artist. Through connections, while still in high school, he was able to land a deal producing a composition for the well known comedian DeRay Davis in his Showtime Comedy special "Power Play".
Following high school, he attended Arizona State University pursuing a degree in Business Communications. After working in retail up until his first year of college, he decided to earn money in a more creative way. He began making his skills and passion for DJing profitable by working with various entertainment companies and starting his own business as a Mobile DJ. This change allowed him more time to focus on music production without compromising pay. This allowed him to turn his passion for music into a profitable business.
In 2015, he reconnected with some old friends he met through music and the local dance scene to form a Music collective called Products of Infamy. This collective consists of more than 14 members consisting of artists of all types creating and collaborating together. The collective has over 100 songs under their belt, most over Tok Sik's very own original beats. His "DIY" mentality and drive has been recognized and embraced by many as he has been gaining rapid growth over the past year through social media, plays, blog features, and interaction. In addition to working among the Hip Hop collective Products of Infamy, he is also building an independent record label with his father called PCMusic Entertainment (PCME) to launch his music career and many artist whom he frequently works with.
