Blue Ivy Carter was born in Manhattan, New York City. She followed the footsteps of her parents Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles to provide singing their music and has made appearances in many of her mother's concerts. She sang alongside her mother for songs including "Brown Skin Girl". She had two younger siblings, Sir and Rumi.
She's the youngest person ever to chart on Billboard after she was featured on a song dedicated to her that was released 2 days after her birth called Glory by her dad, Jay-Z.
Blue Ivy was named after Jay's favorite color, blue & after the Roman numeral, IV.
Her mom, Beyoncé announced she was pregnant with Blue Ivy during a performance at the 2011 MTV Video Movie Awards.
