Crystine has been actively involved in the full cycle of the entertainment industry for over 10 years since she immigrated to Canada from China: from private equity investment in tech and content, to development, production, sales, acquisitions, and distribution of scripted and unscripted projects. She is an ex-studio executive, Producers Guild Member, currently actively producing of films, TV and documentaries.
Crystine's most recent feature film credits include two "Gala Presentation" titles in Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The first is "Prisoner's Daughter" in 2022 directed by "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke starring Brian Cox and Kate Beckinsale. "Prisoner's Daughter" was also selected by the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF ) in June 2023, before its theatrical release in the U.S. on June 30, 2023. Her second TIFF "Gala Presentation" was "Lee" in 2023, which was produced by and starring Kate Winslet, with an award-winning cast: Marion Cotillard, Andy Samberg, Alexander Skarsgård and Josh O'Connor. "Lee" had its U.S. premiere in the AFI FEST 2023 and will be released theatrically on Sept.20th, 2024. Crystine is now executive producing "The Fabulous Four" a romcom starring Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler and Megan Mullally. The film is in post-production.
Crystine produced documentary "Asian Inspirations" that was released in June 2022 by an OTT platform ODK Media . She was the U.S. producer of "An Exchange on China" premiered on the Discovery Channel since Nov.19, 2023, and "Hi, Asian Games", 4-episode docuseries released on CCTV in September 2023. Other documentaries she produced for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific include "Junlebao" (released), "MIT: Decoded China" (in post-production) and "The Art of Peace" (in post-production). Also, since 2019, Crystine has been producing "Skyway to Hell" documentary and developing a live action feature film of the same historic WWII event.
From 2016 to 2020, Crystine was the CEO of the wholly-owned subsidiary of a 45-year-old Chinese studio Shandong Film & TV based in Beverly Hills, California, overseeing the studio's international businesses from investment to acquisition, sales and distribution. Prior to that, she founded 3DIMP with William White in Toronto, set up a joint venture in 2013 with Shanghai New Culture Media Group, a public-traded company that produces and distributes 3000+ film and TV. As an SVP of the JV, Crystine was responsible for investment, operation, co-productions and other business affairs.
Crystine organized the first "3D Film Summit" at Beijing International Film Festival in 2014. She also co-organized "Asian Film Summit" and co-presented TIFF Soirée at Toronto International Film Festival in 2015 and 2016. She was a panel speaker of the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017, and Edinburgh TV Festival in 2019. She is also a judge for the Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival Screenwriting Competition in 2021.
