[on performing Chopin's 'Cello Sonata in G minor'] It actually took me some time to understand it. I read a lot about Chopin and learned that this was one of his last pieces, written during a period when he was experiencing a lot of misfortune in his life. He wasn't happy with what he wrote at first. He went over and over the piece and made a lot of changes, and this is the underlying feeling I get from the piece - he is undecided at moments, and then he finds very beautiful solutions. I don't see it as purely lyrical Romantic music. There is a dark side.
