British actor Sam Gannon – who appeared in TV soap Emmerdale – has died suddenly while travelling in the U.S., his family has announced.
Gannon, aged 31, was visiting relatives in California when he passed away, his family revealed. The cause of death was not yet revealed, although his mother told the BBC her son had suffered from a heart condition from birth which had “reared its ugly head” recently.
The actor played Kev in the popular soap in 2019. In addition, he appeared in TV series Tales of Bacon, and the film Babes with Blades.
Gannon’s family has created a crowd-funding page to appeal for money to help bring their son home to Yorkshire in the UK. The sum raised has already reached £7,600 of its £17,000 target.

Perth, Feb 6 (Ians) Former Australia fast bowler Sam Gannon died on Saturday. He was 73.
Gannon represented Australia in three Test matches during the World Series Cricket era, highlighted by a debut in front of his home fans at the Waca Ground in 1977. He bowled first change behind Australia's new ball attack of Jeff Thomson and Wayne Clark, claiming match figures of 7-161 as Australia defeated India by two wickets.
Gannon played two more Test matches for Australia before returning to state duties. By the time of his retirement as a player during the 1978-79 season, the left-arm paceman had claimed 117 wickets across 40 first-class games and formed part of three successful Sheffield Shield-winning squads during a golden era of Western Australian cricket.
Gannon was also heavily involved in cricket administration, most notably in his roles as vice-chair and chair of the Western Australian Cricket Association for more than a decade, during...

When John Lennon headed into the studio in 1971 to make his solo classic Imagine, wth Yoko Ono and Phil Spector, he had a lot to prove. He wanted to shake off the shadow of the Beatles, yet also build on the band’s legacy. He was itching to leave his ex-bandmates in the dust — Imagine has his notorious attack on Paul McCartney, “How Do You Sleep?” But he also wanted to come to terms with his past and embrace his future with Yoko. He wanted both raging protest songs and tender love ballads.
