Chicago Fire will look different when it opens Season 13 this fall. Several cast members are leaving the show, and things appear to be in for a shakeup at the station. Eamonn Walker (Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden) is leaving the show as a full-time cast member. Now, another beloved character might also exit the series.
Here is who else might be leaving and what might be next for Chicago Fire.
Chicago Fire Losing Beloved Veteran Firefighter?
One of the original Chicago Fire firefighters has been missing for a few episodes now and many fans are asking if he is leaving the show. This is even more distressing since so many other characters are also departing after Season 12. On top of Walker leaving the main cast (he will stick around as a recurring character), three other characters are also departing.

The Chicago Fire hiatus ended Wednesday night with a new episode called The Wrong Guy.
Paramedic Lyla Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) was introduced in the previous episode as the new partner for Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).
Novak stepped in after Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) sent Jared Lennox (Wesam Keesh) packing. Lennox didn’t fit at Firehouse 51, as the team sought a replacement for Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).
Violet wasn’t sure about Novak at first, but she was won over by Novak’s skills in the field and outgoing personality.
Rome Flynn has also departed from the Chicago Fire cast. He played firefighter Jake Gibson, the character replacing Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende).
More casting changes are in store this season, so be ready One Chicago fans.

Chicago Fire fans have been patiently waiting almost a month for new episodes.
That wait could pay off in a big way with some dramatic storylines over the next few weeks.
As a reminder, Chicago Fire Season 12 was shortened due to the Hollywood strikes. This means we only get 13 new episodes this time, as opposed to 22+ in a regular season.
NBC has four more new episodes of Chicago Fire that debut in May, including a season finale that will likely include another cliffhanger.
The good news is that there are four consecutive weeks of new content, meaning One Chicago fans won’t have to worry about repeat episodes for a while.
Chicago Fire Season 13 has also been ordered. So, new episodes for that season will air in the fall of 2024.
Chicago Fire spoilers for upcoming episodes

Chicago Fire Season 12 has added a new firefighter who will appear in the final episodes this year.
The show took a long spring hiatus but finally returns on May 1 with new episodes and a new cast member.
Rome Flynn ended his run as firefighter Jake Gibson, with the character failing to finish the season.
Gibson entered the picture with a troubled past, including accidentally killing someone in the boxing ring. His demons caught up with him, and a drug problem caused Gibson to leave Firehouse 51.
That character was added as a replacement for Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), who left Chicago to spend time with his newly-found family.
Gallo had been a fan-favorite on Chicago Fire, so it was a difficult task to replace him. The next man up now enters the revolving door at this particular firehouse.

Chicago Fire Season 12 is quickly approaching its end. Only a few episodes remain before the long summer hiatus.
This is a shorter season of the hit firefighter drama – mostly because of the two Hollywood strikes that delayed production.
Even though most fans feel like the show just returned, it has been on a long spring break before the final episodes from the current season.
The summer hiatus will feel even longer due to the delays in the past season, but at least NBC already ordered Chicago Fire Season 13.
Many dramas around the television landscape have been canceled, so at least Chicago Fire fans can rest easy knowing the show is returning in the fall of 2024.
But before that new season begins, we have some important upcoming episodes to close out Chicago Fire Season 12.

The Chicago Fire cast has added another new face for Season 12.
It’s already been a season of change at Firehouse 51, and that continues with the next new episode.
Exits are happening frequently this season, beginning with Firefighter Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) leaving Chicago in the season premiere.
Paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) married Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) and then moved to Portland. Her exit was a tough one for the fans.
New Paramedic Jared Lennox (Wesam Keesh) dropped in for two episodes but wasn’t a good fit at the firehouse. Chief Boden sent him packing – a decision that could lead to repercussions later.

The Chicago Fire cast added soap star Rome Flynn for Season 12.
Following the exit of Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), a new firefighter joined Firehouse 51.
Former boxer Jake Gibson became the new man at the house, but he had big shoes to fill. Gallo was a fan favorite and was integral to many storylines.
The writers made Gibson a troubled character who was rough around the edges and not excited about joining a “family” at Firehouse 51.
Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) tried to befriend him and got Gibson to open up (a bit), leading to some good episodes early in the season.
But then Gibson was absent for a week, suggesting he might be dealing with something in his personal life, and he was.

Flynn joined Chicago Fire at the beginning of season 12 as new recruit Derrick Gibson, an ex-boxer with a troubled past. He took a spot on Truck 81 previously occupied by Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), who left the show in the season premiere to move to Detroit.
Unfortunately, Gibson’s time at 51 was brief. As he eventually revealed to Carver (Jake Lockett), he’d embarked on a career as a firefighter after accidentally killing a man during a boxing match. But the trauma from that incident still haunted him. He was also abusing drugs in an attempt to cope with his mental health issues.

Chicago Fire is rolling on without Kelly Severide — but not without arson.
A new Chicago Fire episode promo hints that someone is intentionally setting fires in the city, but Severide isn’t there to investigate.
As a reminder, Severide left Chicago in the third episode of the season. He was asked to help on a big arson case that involved the death of a federal agent.
Stella Kidd (played by Miranda Rae Mayo) was hesitant about her husband leaving Chicago again, but she told him he should go after thinking about it.
This is similar to when actor Taylor Kinney (he plays Severide) took a leave of absence during Season 11. He didn’t return until the Season 12 premiere.
Severide should return to Firehouse 51 at some point because he wouldn’t miss the Matthew Casey wedding, would he?

Change is coming to Chicago Fire. Two more cast members are leaving the NBC drama in season 12. Kara Killmer and Alberto Rosende are exiting the series, following the departure of Jesse Spencer as a full-time cast member in season 10. What’s behind the cast exodus? Showrunner Andrea Newman recently weighed in on the show’s evolution.
‘Things need to change,’ says ‘Chicago Fire’ showrunner
While saying goodbye to beloved characters like Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett might be hard for fans, closing the door on some stories is necessary to keep the show fresh, Newman said in a recent interview with TVLine.
“Honestly, longevity is really just part of it,” she said. “[In] storytelling and in terms of real life, 12 years is a long time, and things need to change, just dynamic-wise. You want new characters, and you want new dynamics.”
After years on a show, cast members are also often...

When season two of Gloria Calderón Kellett's "With Love" series dropped on Amazon Prime earlier this month, with it came many juicy romance storylines. While the show does a beautiful job of portraying the joy within Latine love stories, there's still drama. This season explores the complexities that can come when two people love each other but don't necessarily want the same things.
Take the complicated love triangle between Lily Diaz (played by Emeraude Toubia), Nick Zhao (Desmond Chiam), and Santiago Zayas (Rome Flynn). We witness Lily being pursued by two love interests, unsure of who she ultimately wants to be with.

Lily and Santiago couldn't be more opposite, especially when it comes to their views on relationships. But for the longest time, they thought their love for each other was enough to overcome their incompatibilities.

When Gloria Calderón Kellett's "With Love" series dropped on Amazon Prime in December 2021, it hit differently from any other rom-com series or film featuring a mostly Latine cast. In this cross-generational romance, we got to experience couples falling in love - including the show's lead Lily Diaz (played by Emeraude Toubia) - in a beautiful and lighthearted way, without the trauma.
For many Latinas, Lily's character is quite relatable. She's a hopeless romantic who's in love with love. Her parents are happily married, so she's been conditioned to believe that if you find love, get married, and have kids, your life will be perfect. But in season two, Lily starts to realize that her idea of happily ever after in love doesn't actually exist.
For Toubia, this is an unrealistic standard that she once set herself.
