Collier Wilmes
- Make-Up Department
- Additional Crew
- Special Effects
Collier's passion lies in making creatures and characters. As a child,
he saw the behind-the-scenes featurette of King Kong (1933) which
showed how they made the creatures with puppet animation. Inspired, he
began making his own puppets using pipe cleaners. Soon after that, he
grew a fascination with behind the scenes documentaries. Then when
seeing the behind the scenes of Jurassic Park he soon Idolized special
FX legend, Stan Winston as his hero. In his early teens, he began
making masks so he create better representations of his characters.
When Collier makes masks or makeups, they are more than just FX; in his
eyes, they're characters with history, emotion, and great motivations.
Sometimes he creates characters that are like extensions of his own
personality. His interests beyond making creatures include movies,
comics, and music. Some of his favorite music groups are Disturbed,
Insane Clown Posse, and Lordi mostly Bands that are heavily focused on
the theatrical side. He enjoys reading a variety of comics but mostly
collects Batman, Godzilla, and Hulk comics. When working on projects he
likes to play music related to the project at hand, play a movie to
listen too, or listen to interviews with artists that he admires and
looks up too.
