Here's a great short film called Givertaker that comes from a couple of filmmakers based out of Austin, Texas. It's about a teenaged girl who is convinced a couple of Mean Girls-esque classmates have ruined her reputation and made her life a living hell, so she turns to a mysterious supernatural creature called the Givertaker to enact her revenge on them.
The short serves as a proof of concept for the world of the "Dead Kids Club," which the filmmakers presumably hope to build out in future shorts or maybe even a feature film. Givertaker premiered at this year's Fantastic Fest, and I've embedded it below for you to check out. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments!

There is no shortage of bad found footage movies that have plagued the horror genre since The Blair Witch Project exploded onto the scene in 1999. Thanks to that film’s massive success and subsequent redefining of the genre, anyone with two friends and a camcorder suddenly became a director of feature-length horror films, most of which consisted of 90 minutes of aimless picking around and bickering in the name of “conflict” until the camera shook and cut to black in the final moments. This is a fact not lost upon writer/director Steven DeGennaro in his debut feature, Found Footage 3D, a film that is a brilliant sendup of the subgenre, a loving tribute to found footage, and one of the best surprises in horror this year.

The last time we told you about a film called Found Footage 3D, which is being produced by Texas Chain Saw Massacre co-creator Kim Henkel, was a couple of weeks ago and in that release the first casting news was announced along with a proposed start time.
Right now we can confirm the flick began shooting this past Sunday and one trip to IMDb (which can be iffy to say the least) gave us the skinny on who else will be in the film. Joining the previously announced Jessica Perrin are Carter Roy, Alena von Stroheim, Chris O’Brien, Tom Saporito, Scott Allen Perry, and outspoken film critic Scott Weinberg.
