This story about the best film schools in the U.S. first appeared in the College Issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Before diving into this list — TheWrap’s seventh annual film school rankings — keep one critical caveat in mind: The dream campus for one student can turn out to be an academic nightmare for another. It’s all subjective and to some degree a barrel full of apples and oranges. After all, the best schools for learning how to direct aren’t necessarily the best for learning how to write or produce. Just because a college or university has a high number on these pages doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right place for you.
That said, there is something of a science to how we put together these rankings. For starters, TheWrap reached out to every school listed and collected data points on everything from class size...

As a serial killer stalks the city, a young actress who just moved to town with her boyfriend notices a mysterious stranger watching her from across the street.
Do you always feel like somebody’s watching you? Well, hopefully not, but unfortunately for Maika Monroe’s character Julia in Chloe Okuno‘s brand new horror-thriller Watcher, she feels as if there is. It all begins when, one night while relaxing in her apartment, she notices what appears to be a mysterious stranger spying on her from across the street.
However, Julia quickly realizes that this strange person only appears to be watching her at night. In one scene early on, she talks to her boyfriend about her obviously scary situation, at which point he asks her where the stranger is watching her from,...

The first Disney release of 2020, Pixar’s Onward, arrived on tracking today with a $44 million projection.
Some believe that the forecast for the March 6 release is low and could go higher. The movie directed by Dan Scanlon and featuring the voices of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Octavia Spencer and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is set in a suburban fantasy world, where two teenage elf brothers embark on a quest to see if there’s still magic out there.
It’s the first time in the Emeryville, CA animation studio’s 34-year history that they’ve opened a movie in the first-quarter corridor. Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia owns the March opening record for a feature toon at $75M. Spring break for K-12 schools and colleges kicks off March 6 with 4% and 9% off, respectively, and growing throughout the month.
Also opening on March 6, but coming on tracking quite low, is the Ben Affleck drama The Way Back.
