This article contains spoilers through the Manifest series finale.
After keeping viewers captivated since 2018, Manifest finally reached its thrilling conclusion as season 4 part 2 landed on Netflix on Friday. While the series answered most of our burning questions regarding the mystery of Flight 828 and whether passengers could survive the Death Date, it did leave viewers with many questions regarding the show’s arc and whether some deaths were necessary.
For most of the last ten episodes of Manifest, flight 828 passengers found themselves locked in a detention center by the Registry because of public fear and the government wanting to do scientific experiments on them. The passenger’s position in the detention center hindered their ability to solve their callings and figure out what needed to be done to help them survive the Death Date.

The action picks up on May 31, 2024, two days before the Death Date, as Netflix’s Manifest season four episode 18 opens. The government can’t stop the volcanic activity and Saanvi’s being blamed for not helping them enough to get the situation under control.
The public’s being kept in the dark about the impending extinction-level event and have no idea what’s causing the seismic activity.
Troy (Ed Herbstman) suggests using an electromagnetic pulse to block the Ulf, and he’s ordered to try it first on the black box. Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) is concerned the experiment will wipe out the box’s data – but that won’t matter if the world ends anyway.

Netflix’s Manifest season four episode 17 takes an eight-month time jump to May 2, 2024, exactly one month prior to the Death Date. Drea (Ellen Tamaki) is about to give birth to Jared’s baby – which she didn’t tell him about when he got back together with Michaela – and returns home from shopping with her mom but won’t let her inside her the building. She claims she doesn’t want to show it off until she has it all fixed up, but the real reason is that there’s nothing inside.
She purchased the place near the detention center and has been busy attempting to break through the wall.
Inside the center, Ben (Josh Dallas) is now the unofficial mayor and everyone’s busy with their assigned jobs. There’s a healthy vegetable garden, but the rations are running low.

Jared and Michaela are reigniting their relationship and enjoying life away from the detention center as Netflix’s Manifest season four episode 16 opens. With Michaela’s dad resting peacefully upstairs, the couple get to know each other’s naked bodies once again.
The following morning, Jared (J.R. Ramirez) returns from grocery shopping with plenty of supplies to make grilled cheese – one of Michaela’s favorites – and wonders how long they need to remain hidden. The detention center must be tracking Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh), so they can’t even make any phone calls.
Back at the detention center, Ben (Josh Dallas) is convinced everyone’s going to die, and it’s all his fault. He accidentally stopped the 828ers from receiving callings once he injected Angelina with Saanvi’s serum. Vance (Daryl Edwards) insists Ben had no way of knowing the callings would disappear.

Angelina’s hanging out among unhoused families as Netflix’s Manifest season four episode 12 begins. She’s made friends with a young girl and shows off her scarred hand, explaining it’s so special that God even made it glow just yesterday.
Angelina (Holly Taylor) believes God needs her to prepare for the day of judgment.
Ben’s dad, Steve, helps fix a sink while Cal (Ty Doran) watches. Cal’s sorry Steve had to go back to work to help support them, and he hates that he can’t get a job for fear of being discovered. Steve assures him it’s okay and that he needs to keep being careful.
Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) is having a horrible day, and a visit from Zeke (from the glow) is the only thing that brightens up her mood.

"Fear the purr." You have to see this!! Check out the first teaser trailer for a film titled Mad Cats, marking the feature directorial debut of Japanese filmmaker Reiki Tsuno. It's premiering at the 2023 Slamdance Film Festival, the alternative version of Sundance that runs in the exact same town during the same week (more info + tickets right here). "No more depressing movies from Japan," is Tsuno's motto for this project. What should have been a young man's emotional journey to find his missing brother turns into a nightmare when he gets embroiled in a monster cats' revenge massacre against evil humans who abused them. Wait, this has monster cats in it?! The indie film stars Sho Mineo, Yuya Matsuura, Ayane, So Yamanaka, and Michael Aaron Stone. Unfortunately there's no shots of any cats in this trailer, but there's plenty of other kick ass glimpses in this upbeat, energetic 30 second tease.

Teamwork makes the dream work, even when it's just two people, but sometimes that's the key.
There were many iconic pairs on TV in 2022; whether it'd be hunting a monster or trying to save someone in the operating room, there were many dynamic duos.
It may be the end of the year, but there is a lot more to come with these great pairs.
These TV dynamic duos caught the hearts of TV Fanatic writers for 2022!
John Winchester and Mary Campbell (The Winchesters)
John and Mary's relationship is inevitable, as fans of Supernatural know, but their story on The Winchesters is much bigger.
They are the definition of "opposites attract," as Mary is a hunter and John is a soldier, but it's why they work so well together.
Even though they've known each other for a short time, they still open up to each other like never before while also kicking monster butt.

If you’ve ever been aboard an international flight, you know just how crowded those things can get. So naturally, the “Manifest” cast is pretty huge. First released on NBC and now streaming on Netflix, the record-breaking show follows the passengers of a plane that disappears mid-flight and lands five years later without explanation, or anyone on board noticing something was wrong.
But once they land, the Flight 828 passengers find their lives forever changed — and forever connected — through a series of visions dubbed “Callings,” which drive the 828ers to solve crimes, uncover mysteries and continually reunite thanks to the influences of a force they never fully understand.
“Manifest” just returned with the first half of a super-sized 20-episode fourth and final season, and as the series starts to pay off the promise that “it’s all connected,” many of the 828 passengers make their return, along with some new faces — or in Cal’s case,...

Ben (Josh Dallas) refuses to give up even though Alex thinks Cal has days rather than months or even weeks left to live. Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) agrees Alex did everything she could, and at this point, the goal is to keep Cal as comfortable as possible.
