Netflix and Amazon may not have been able to cook up a deal to snap up The Great British Bake Off last year when it moved from the BBC to Channel 4 but the Svod services are still fighting over the cake competition.
Netflix has secured the first seven seasons of the BBC show, which featured Mary Berry and Mel and Sue, to air in the UK, while Amazon has snapped up a lucrative sponsorship deal for the Channel 4 version of the show.
The original version of the Love Productions show, which airs in the U.S. as The Great American Baking Show on ABC, will launch on Netflix in the UK on Sunday March 31, just in time for an Easter binge, with classic moments including Iain Watters’ Baked Alaska Bingate scandal, Nadiya Hussein’s teary victory speech and Valerie Stones emotional exit.

Yeah yeah, you've got your signature bake. Sure, uh-huh, there's the technical challenge. But the best bit of each week's Great British Bake Off is without doubt the Showstopper round, when the amateur bakers go large, go mental and try to wow the judges. In tribute to this week's two corkers, here's a magnificent seven memorable showstoppers...
1. Alvin's cornucopia (series 6)
Why whip up one showstopper when you can make a whole damn bakery? Alvin Magallanes's 'Horn Of Plenty' cornucopia contained balsamic onion rolls, wheatsheafs, pumpkins, cuddly toys, teasmades and quite possibly a kitchen sink. Mel Giedroyc even made "vehicle reversing" noises when she helped him carry it up to the gingham altar.
2. Frances' matchbox cake (series 4)
She clinched the title with her Midsummer Dream wedding cake in the final but the first indication of Frances Quinn's creative flair came back in week two, when she presented her ginger and...

Iain Watters has hinted he could be set to return to 'The Great British Bake Off'. The bearded baker was voted of the BBC One show by judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry earlier this week when he threw his attempt at a Baked Alaska pudding in the bin after fellow contestant Diana Beard removed it from the freezer, causing it to melt. It has since emerged that Diana - whose actions led viewers to brand her a saboteur - quit the show due to a mystery illness, and Iain's suggested he may be set to return in next week's episode.
