From the outset, the CW’s Batwoman series was one of the better offerings, thanks to a strong visual sensibility and a winning performance from Rachel Skarsten as the damaged Alice. And like every other Arrowverse show, it threatened to suffer from character bloat by the end of its second season. Thankfully, supernumerary characters and plot points were jettisoned and Javicia Leslie, as Ryan Wilder, made Batwoman her own character after Ruby Rose’s departure.
Season three, therefore, offered a lot of promise and across thirteen episodes we saw the show flirt with good, solid storytelling, too often succumbing to mind-numbing plot holes and illogic. It suffered from being hampered by the idiotic notion that Circe could waltz into the Batcave and make off with Batman’s greatest rogue weapons, all neatly fitting into a duffel bag.

Camrus Johnson made his “Batwoman” directing debut this week, putting him at the helm of a major moment for Wildmoore shippers. It was a moment he took just as seriously as the fans.
The end of “Broken Toys” saw Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) and Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy) finally give into their feelings for each other — or at least, Ryan finally gave in. Sophie was more than ready to be with her. In the final minutes of the episode, the two end up in bed together, and it was a moment that Johnson really wanted to get right.
“I have so many actor friends that have had to do scenes like this and they can be uncomfortable. So my biggest thing was no matter what, I want this to be fun, I want this to be short and I want you to enjoy it,” Johnson explained to TheWrap. “And I...

Certain characters in this Gotham seem to get a concentrated dose of specific plot elements, and on Batwoman Season 2 Episode 12, the lucky winner is Agent Sophie Moore.
While we've seen Jacob cast as the Poor Schmuck, with episode after episode of being blindsided with truths about his family, Sophie's become the Carrier of Secrets ever since finding out that Ryan is Batwoman on Batwoman Season 2 Episode 11.
Here, she also discovers that Mary Hamilton has been working with the Bat Team And that Jacob is a Snakebite user.
That's a lot of information to sit on for a character who spent all of Season One insisting on holding everyone (except herself) to a ridiculous standard of transparency.
I'll get the Dumb Points out of the way first.
Dumb Point #1: Jacob not only disposes of a Snakebite syringe in his own trash can, but he also keeps the empty Snakebite box in his safe.

(Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Batwoman” episode 8)
Against all odds, Ryan Wilder will fight another day as Batwoman, thanks to the desert rose. It just wasn’t a desert rose from Coryana.
Okay, technically it was, since the plant is indigenous to the island. But Ryan (Javicia Leslie) couldn’t make it to Safiyah’s (Shivaani Ghai) fields to grab one off the stem. Having burned through an adrenaline shot she injected in her leg back in Gotham taking on Safiyah’s army, Ryan was weak and only had enough strength to make it to the plateau overlooking the fields — watching as they burned.
In a final moment of rage and revenge, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) set the field ablaze after learning that Safiyah had lied about having her sister Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) on the island, and subsequently tricked her into killing her long lost love, Ocean.. “Now we both have nothing,...

Take a look at new character posters revealing the lead females in the dramatic, live-action "Batwoman" TV series, based on the DC Comics, recently renewed for a second season on The CW:
"...three years after billionaire philanthropist 'Bruce Wayne' and his vigilante alter-ego 'Batman disappeared, his cousin 'Kate Kane' sets out to overcome her demons and become a symbol of hope by protecting the streets of 'Gotham City' as 'Batwoman'..."
Ruby Rose is 'Kate Kane'/'Batwoman', a highly trained street fighter and 'out lesbian' who, armed with a fierce passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, dedicates herself to defending 'Gotham' in Batman's absence.
Rachel Skarsten is 'Beth Kane'/'Alice', Kate's presumed dead sister and the leader of the 'Wonderland Gang' whose personality goes from maniacal to charming and back again as she sets out to erode Gotham's sense of security.
Meagan Tandy is 'Sophie Moore',...

“Thank you… Kate.” With those three words, The CW’s Batwoman (airing Sundays at 8/7c) added Sophie Moore to the very short list of people who know the true identity of Gotham’s new vigilante. But will Sophie rush to share the intel with Crows boss (and Kate’s father) Jacob Kane? Will she sit on it a bit? Or is there a third possible option?
TVLine spoke with Meagan Tandy about Sophie’s choice, how new flashbacks will shed new light on the break-up that broke Kate’s heart, and much more.
