Jag Bains won his third comp and third Veto of “Big Brother 25” this week — and it wasn’t just any old Veto. It was Otev. And with it, he joins the esteemed list of Otev champs. But will he defy the Otev curse and become only the second Otev winner after Cody Calafiore to go on to win the game?
Before Cody, no one had ever won both in the same season. Since Otev made its debut in Season 7 in 2006, it’s been in every installment except Season 10. Here are all the Otev champs:

Michael Bruner picked up his fifth comp win and fourth Veto this week on “Big Brother 24” when he won Otev. Sure, he was also aided by Terrance Higgins throwing it to him in a misbegotten attempt to save Daniel Durston, but still, a win is a win. That also means that his festie bestie Brittany Hoopes is in the “Bb” annals as a co-winner of Otev even though she was the first one to be eliminated from the comp. As a superfan, Michael is no doubt aware of the Otev curse and the fact that Cody Calafiore broke it in 2020 when he became the first Otev champ to win the whole game in the same season. That didn’t kick off a new trend, though, since Alyssa Lopez was evicted in seventh place last season. Can Michael or Brittany become the second?

Alyssa Lopez won Otev this week on “Big Brother 23” — or technically, she was thrown it by Kyland Young, who wanted her to win so he could get the second Veto since he bet on her in Veto Derby. No matter, she’s still in the “Bb” record books now as an Otev champ. The good news for her is that the Otev curse has been broken, by Cody Calafiore last year, but the bad news is that she’s unlikely to pull a Cody and win the whole shebang.
Until Cody last season, nobody had won the iconic Veto comp and gone on to win the season. Otev was introduced in Season 7, the first all-stars installment, in 2006 and has been played every year except Season 10. Here are all the Otev champs:

“Big Brother,” is a popular reality television show, but not everyone watches it. Those who do know the cast members well, but those who don’t have never heard of most of the people who made their names a little famous on the show. Zach Rance is one of those guys. He was part of the show. Either you know him or you don’t but if you don’t, that’s all about to change. He’s making major headlines right now as he goes through a few things in his life, and it’s been a very interesting few days for the young reality

Big Brother alum Zach Rance says that he is bisexual and that when he starred on the CBS reality show years ago, he fell in love and "hooked up" with former co-star Frankie Grande. Frankie, singer Ariane Grande's openly gay older brother, has not responded to Ranch's comments, which he made on Tuesday, Dec. 8 during a collective YouTube conversation about mental health, sexual orientation and gender identity. The Mental Health Collection, an initiative Zach leads, and the podcast With Love, Alexa, presented the virtual event. "I've been straight my entire life," said Zach, who co-starred with Frankie on season 16 of Big Brother in 2014....

With Cody Calafiore winning his second Head of Household competition this week on “Big Brother 22” and continuing the streak of his alliance strictly nominating players outside their group, we must ask the question: how does The Committee rank against the great alliances in Bb history? Cody has been aligned with Christmas Abbott, Nicole Franzel, Memphis Garrett, Tyler Crispen and Dani Briones in a so-far-unbreakable alliance of six since Memphis corralled the group during his own Hoh reign in week 2. As of this week, they have won 7/8 Hoh and 5/8 Power of Veto comps.

Otev is making its grand return to “Big Brother” this week, and we just have to say two things: 1) If its identity isn’t mask-themed, then what is the point? 2) Good luck to whoever wins because no Otev champ has gone on to win the $500,000.

Big Brother All-Stars Season 2 is happening!
Fans have been waiting for a second All-Stars season ever since the first one -- Big Brother Season 7 -- aired fourteen years ago.
To celebrate the great news, I put together a dream cast for the upcoming season. It includes past houseguests who dominated their individual seasons and others who fell short but were fan-favorites.
Nicole Anthony (Big Brother 21)
Nicole was robbed on her season. She wasn't a huge competitor, which was ultimately her downfall, but when she did win, everyone cheered (her Hoh win during the double eviction was epic).
Her social game was amazing, though, and she seemed to come alive towards the end of the season.
There's a reason she won America's Favorite and came in third place. Big Brother needs more likable houseguests who can actually make it far in the game.
Everyone loves an underdog, and Nicole was the underdog of her season.

After a wild, yet-to-be-seen house meeting, Tommy Bracco was evicted from “Big Brother 21” on Thursday, ending his dream of taking home the $500,000. But we told you last month that he wouldn’t win — because he had won Otev.

Tommy Bracco won Otev on “Big Brother 21” this week, which is great news for him and Christie Murphy, whom he saved after she became the third nominee from America’s Field Trip. It’s bad news for Cliff Hogg III and Kathryn Dunn, who remain on the block, and any “Big Brother” fan who craves shakeups, of which this season has been sorely deprived. But it’s also bad news for Tommy because no Otev champ has gone on to win the game.
Introduced in Season 7, the iconic Veto comp has been in every installment since except for Season 10, which was won by Dan Gheesling. Dan, of course, returned in Season 14 and played and won that Otev, but he came up short in the finale, falling to Ian Terry. So technically Dan is the only Otev champ to have won “Big Brother,” but those triumphs were in two separate seasons.
