The Voidz are back with a new single called “Flexorcist” just in time for Halloweekend.
As its name might suggest, “Flexorcist” dabbles in some macabre subject matter, as Julian Casablancas sings of gravestones, metaphorical firing squads, and spirits reading psalms. Throughout the nearly six-minute-long track, he appears to grapple with the fear of being deemed “crazy,” though he also seems to argue that feeling that way is only natural in times like these: “These are the things that I must do/ They are not meant to upset you/ Some might just not be ready for the truth,” he croons.
Stylistically, “Flexorcist” sees The Voidz lean into their poppier side, layering synths and new wave-inspired guitars over the tune’s catchy melodies. Stream the track below.

The Voidz have formally released “American Way,” the B-side from the CD single for their May release, “Prophecy of the Dragon.” Stream it below.
Built around an off-kilter guitar and slightly distorted vocals from singer Julian Casablancas, the track takes sharp aim at American history. “Well, it’s true what they say,” he sings. “The American way is built on someone’s tears/ They alone are the lucky ones/ Take when they came; with promises made.”

The Voidz are back with “Prophecy of the Dragon,” their first new song in two years. Listen to it below.
Featuring guitar riffage, a vocoder interlude, and some classic Julian Casablancas vocals, “Prophecy of the Dragon” places the quintessential elements of The Voidz’s sound in a sinister setting. There are moments of reprieve — times when the harmony opens up and ethereal arpeggios swirl around — but by the time you reach the guitar-scape and harmonic tension of the climax, the song brings to mind the fire and passion of its namesake.
“The track started with a very simple question: what would it feel like if God whispered into your ear, ‘You are my most magnificent creature?'” the band said in a statement. “What would that feeling sound like? What would its bassline be? With that, [guitarist, Jeramy] Beardo blew The Voidz conch shell and we assembled where we had been summoned for previous quests.

Daft Punk are getting lucky again: The French duo’s fourth and final studio album Random Access Memories has returned to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and now sits at No. 8 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
Per Luminate, Random Access Memories saw a 1,046% spike in equivalent album units in the US, in the week ending May 18th. The revived buzz comes thanks to Daft Punk’s new 10th anniversary edition of the album, which has now spent a grand total of 22 weeks at No. 1 including its original stint on the chart in 2013. Billboard adds that since 2001, only six albums have spent more time at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart — with the gold medal going to Lady Gaga’s 2008 album The Fame, with 175 weeks at the top.

Daft Punk have unveiled the 10th anniversary reissue of their final album, Random Access Memories. Featuring nine previously-unreleased tracks — totaling 35 minutes of new music — the release offers a unique glimpse into the French duo’s creative process, and pays homage to the celebrated, 2x album that marked the end of their run.
The duo also unveiled a video for the new track “Infinity Repeating (2013 Demo),” featuring Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, which they note will be their final music video. Watch it below.
“Infinity Repeating (2013 Demo)” was recorded during the initial sessions for Random Access Memories at Conway Recording Studios in Los Angeles and Electric Lady Studios in New York. Built around a literal loop, the song (and its animated video) allude to the confluence of humanity and technology, a theme present throughout the album. “It’s lovely and bizarre, like a human,” Casablancas said in a statement. “And, like a human,...
